A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was willing to answer any and all Questions and Answers. I was expecting more design related questions, but it seems that the majority of you wanted to know if I am related to this woman: Laura Ingalls Wilder The simple answer is "Yes." The more interesting answer is my great great grandfather, Lansford "James" Ingalls and Charles (Pa) were brothers. My dear friend, Miss Sandy from Quill Cottage, created an entire series of posts on LIW in June of 2008. You ... View the Post
How does your garden grow?
When I returned from my week-long trip to Minnesota I found that the heat had caught up with most of my winter flowers. How does your garden grow? How does your garden grow? My pretty pansies were a wilted mess. All of the pots needed to be refreshed for the summer. I found several lovely things in the nursery. My gardener approved of all the choices. Of course, we all know that good help is hard to find. I caught the gardener lounging about and ended up doing all the work ... View the Post
To Grandmother’s House I Go

Blissful Treasures I can never leave a vintage ballerina behind. They are currently showing up in the "Happy Birthday" corsages I ... View the Post
Bohemian Bungalow Part Two
Bohemian Bungalow Part Two. This is the charming gray bungalow that sits next to the lovely yellow bungalow I wrote about in my last post. Kristin and Dan Alber have spent a great deal of time and effort to restore this beauty to its former glory. Bohemian Bungalow Part Two The interiors have a continuing color palette of neutrals punctuated by a bright spring green. It is as if the legendary Dorothy Draper and Kelly Wearstler have joined forces. I love how the address of the home shows ... View the Post
Bohemian Bungalow Part One
The backdrop of Bohemian Bliss was held in the beautiful yards of two darling historic bungalows. This is Bohemian Bungalow Part One. Today we will be viewing the yellow home of Dan and Kristin Alber. Bohemian Bungalow Part One The house and its grounds are quite lovely. It even has a wee playhouse. Inside is a profusion of beauty and color. The fireplace is not used in the traditional sense. A tv makes good use of the firebox hidden behind the shutters. I absolutely adore the ... View the Post
