Hello sweet friends, Happy Fashion Friday. It has been a terrifically hot week here at Storybook Cottage. If you’ve been following my Instagram stories you know that after three long months of waiting (due to a brick shortage) the brick wall that was destroyed in a recent tornado was finally rebuilt! I thought a celebration was in order. Here’s A Summer Garden Themed Giveaway.
UPDATE: All names were put into the Wheel of Names. Congratulations to Deborah of Fairfield House winner of the pink apron and via Instagram @BexGarden was the winner of the full apron.
Favorite Gardens
Over the years I have written many garden themed posts. Some reader favorites include:
Creating A Jane Austen Inspired Garden and A Jane Austen Inspired Garden Party.
I recently shared my summer home tour which also had a garden theme.
Seed Catalog
Our local library has a native and heirloom seed catalog that patrons can collect seed packets from. In an effort to support our library I have been making weekly trips for books and picking up a wide variety of seeds. They have been stored in a mini catalog box in the dining area. Visitors to our home are encouraged to look through and take as many seed packets as they would like.
Many of you remarked how much you loved this idea so I thought it would be fun to share some seeds with you, dear readers, as well.
Apron Strings
I am a big believer in wearing aprons while gardening. They not only protect your clothes but can hold a wide variety of things such as hand tools, seeds, water, and more.
Sometimes I wear a full coverage apron. This one was made from a torn tablecloth.
Other times a half apron, created from vintage bits, is enough.
A Summer Garden Themed Giveaway
What’s better than one giveaway? Two!
The first giveaway includes a pink half apron.
The apron is made from a vintage pillowcase, doilies and crochet trim.
The extra long ties make the half apron very size inclusive. It will fit most people. The ties can be worn wrapped around the waist or tied in a cute bow in the back.
There are 12 different seed packets tucked inside the pockets.
The second giveaway is a pinafore styled apron.
It is made from a vintage 1960s pattern that buttons up the back. The pinafore fits a bust range from 32″ to 38″ (81 cm – 96 cm).
The pinafore features two vintage floral print cotton fabrics and vintage crocheted bias trim.
The extra large pockets will also have twelve seed packets tucked inside.

Oh, Laura! I admire your sewing prowess and the amazing amount of garments that you make! I especially like the clever way you incorporated pockets into the pink half apron. The 1960’s pinafore would be so useful, too. I would be excited to win either one.
I hope that you will have some cooler weather soon!

I love them both but I am a gardener and I think that would come in so handy!

They are both beautiful but that pink one is just sweet as can be! That would be so fun doing my gardening in!

I would love to win the pinafore apron. Both of the aprons are lovely. I’m not on Instagram, so this may disqualify me.

I’ve been lucky enough to win one of your beautiful aprons before so although I adore both of these (the pinny reminds me of one my gran had only yours is cuter!), it wouldn’t be fair to try. Good luck, though — it’s a lovely gesture and the winner will be very lucky!

I love, love, LOVE the pink apron! I collect vintage aprons and this sweet one would fit in with all the rest. I admire your creativity and attention to detail, and appreciate how you recycle vintage fabrics and trims.

What a thoughtful giveaway! I would love to win the pink half apron. It would remind me of my mom who passed away last summer. She loved pink and especially pink flowers and she had a huge collection of vintage linens and this would be a beautiful reminder of what a lovely mom she was. Thank you!

Laura, Please toss my name in the hat for a chance to win the beautiful half apron. Your creations are as beautiful as my garden’s blooms.
