Merry Making Ideas

Hello sweet friends, are you ready for the long holiday weekend? Today is a special Fashion Friday that includes some fun Merry Making Ideas inspired by the March family.

“Now and then, in this workaday world, things do happen in the delightful storybook fashion, and what a comfort it is. Half an hour after everyone had said they were so happy they could only hold one drop more, the drop came.” ~ Chapter 22 of Little Women.

Merry Making Ideas

Recently, a few of my costuming friends and family members gathered together to celebrate with a Little Women inspired holiday tea (linked below).

Merry Making Ideas

We recreated a few iconic scenes of the four March sisters and their beloved Laurie.

The guests included Megan (@scomeg) Dixie (@dixiediy) Sweet Guy, Mr. Decor, Michele (@posingpretty) Tiffany (@stitchinaddiction) and the Fashionista.

Our Meg was the first to arrive.

She was so darling in her Zouave jacket and full skirt that Tiffany made.

Her beautiful green bonnet was created by her mom, Michele.

Michele also came early and slid right into her role as Hannah the beloved cook.

Although the Fashionista was named after the character Beth she says she relates more to the artistic Amy.

Her beautiful fan front dress was also created by Tiffany of Stitchin’ Addiction.

I got so choked up over this precious photo of Tiffany and Alyssa Lou.

Dixie’s late 1860s gown was absolutely breathtaking!

You can watch the video about how she made it HERE.

Mr. March and Laurie looked so handsome!

We had a lovely time trimming the small tree and enjoying 1860s inspired foods.

Oh, this post was such a treat! Thank you. My 9 year old granddaughter and I have watched two of the versions of Little Women and she really enjoyed them. She kept up with the characters and asked questions along the way! She and I also gave a Christmas Tea for her mom, grandma, auntie and myself. What fun to introduce children to the “old ways” of celebrating.
