Hello and welcome to the Storybook Cottage Soft Shades Of Fall Home Tour. This wonderful collection of homes decorated in their fall finery is organized by my talented friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. Yesterday’s tours ended with Clean and Scentsible. Jenn has such great decor ideas. Today I am sharing New Fall Touches At Storybook Cottage.
New Fall Touches At Storybook Cottage
Beginning in the entryway I have added a few minimal touches of fall.
As it is still in the 90s here a transitional style is needed. You can see how I made the owl and mushroom picks HERE.
Kitchen
There is a late summer/early fall transitional feel in the kitchen as well.
You can find more information on how I transformed an old lace table topper into curtains HERE.
We are still loving the hearth which received a German Schmear makeover last spring.
Living Room
On the other side of hearth is a the living room fireplace.
The instructions for the birch log insert can be found HERE.
I love seeing the reflection in the Prince of Wales style mirror.
Cool but cozy fall colors.
The fall wreath I made last year found a new home next to the cabinet of curiosities.
The cabinet is filled with white stone wear and The Friendly Village dishes.
From this view you can see the dining area.
The table is set with more of The Friendly Village.
The napkin rings were a recent fast and fun project.
Mr. Decor built several little wooden caddies a few years ago when our fencing was replaced.
Over on the sideboard I’ve squirreled away a collection of fall favorites.
A smile inducing eclectic collection.
I love the touches of turquoise in the dishes.
I’m a bit nuts for brass accents. How about you?
Gracie and I hope you have enjoyed this years fall home tour.
Up next is Simply2Moms. You will adore their fall decorating ideas.

Thanks for the beautiful tour Laura. I remember that pretty fall wreath from last year and love it so much. Gracie is so cute too.

Aw, Gracie is so cute! I enjoyed your lovely home tour. All the blue mixed in with the fall decor is so pretty. I hope you start to get some cooler temps where you live. It cooled down a bit in NJ but now we have tons of rain. I shouldn’t complain because it basically didn’t rain all summer! Great to hop with you again. Wishing you a wonderful fall season!

Your turquoise is so pretty and always goes so well with all your different seasonal decor as you switch it out each season. So many cute ornaments and treasures to show off for the season. It is still quite warm here on the East Coast but it supposed to cool down by the weekend. Maybe your post and the cooler weather will inspire me to dig out some of my fall treasures. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂

I love the german smear on the fireplace and the hearth in the kitchen, so beautiful with your gorgeous new kitchen cabinets. Your touches of blue warm up the space and are so pretty. I especially love the eclectic vignette you created on the sideboard. It is so interesting and fun. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season. Your home is always so fun to visit.

Wow, you got busy! I love that you use different colors for fall. Each room looks so bright and colorful. And those little squirrels tucked in everywhere are so fun! I need to find some of those – like now! Hope you are feeling better and being productive. 😉 Happy Fall Laura!
