When my friend Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home asked me to participate in Celebrating Fall with Feathered Friends I instantly said “Yes!” I knew I had created quite a few bird themed project over the years. A quick bit of research revealed it was close to 100 posts! So I decided to narrow it down to projects that had been heavily pinned. I hope the Feathered Friends Holiday Decor will put a song in your heart and inspire you.
If you are coming over from White Arrows Home may I say, “Welcome!” Doesn’t Kristin have the best fall decor?
Feathered Friends Holiday Decor
This early fall tablescape using twigs, nests and birds is a true fan favorite.
It has me thinking that perhaps I should add some birds to this year’s Thanksgiving table decor featuring a Gratitude Tree.
If you like non traditional Thanksgiving decor then this Sweet Tweet Tablescape is perfect! Just substitute fall hued branches for the blossoms.
A cute kids table is merely a few gourds away. It can also be prepared well in advance.
While most Thanksgiving table décor features turkey’s this tablescape has feathers and birdseed.
Fine Feathered Vignettes
Looking for an autumnal centerpiece that won’t wilt after a day? Try creating a terrarium.
The very first pumpkin diorama I created featured a happy scarecrow who wasn’t very good at his job. Giggle. The project was featured on Pop Sugar and took off.
Want more neutral Thanksgiving decor? Look for dollar store turkeys you could give a painted makeover. Then simply add some fall foliage to a few baskets.
A classic DTA project that could be transformed into temporary Thanksgiving decor is to add paper turkey silhouette’s to your lampshades.
Christmas Decor
The Anthropologie Inspired Tree Topper I created back in 2009 has been pinned over 30,000 times. After ten good years it was retired and made into a fabulous Regency era head crown. But I still love this project and it seems that many other people do too.
You may remember the special Advent calendar the Sparrow Post, that I created last year. This is a wonderful project for children.
I’ll be back on Thursday with new holiday decor.

Oh wow Laura, so many creative ideas for bird lovers! I am crazy about that gourd turkey centerpiece and your twiggy trees! The neutral vignette with the bust statue and birds is still one of my favorites vignettes you have shared. So pretty!
Thanks so much for joining the hop. Happy Thanksgiving!

Laura, your vignettes are beautiful, as are your table settings. I love using birds (yes, definitely, at least one or two on the gratitude tree, I think!). They are lovely year round. So many fun ideas here! Happy week!
