Hello sweet friends! Welcome to the February edition of the Pinterest Challenge. This monthly event is hosted by Cindy of County Road 407. If you are visiting from A Stroll Thru Life may I say “Welcome to Storybook Cottage!” Today I am sharing Early Spring Entry Decor.
Early Spring Entry Decor
This month the challenge is to decorate a spring inspired console/or sofa table. Our inspiration photo comes from Sincerely Marie Designs.
The image features:
- A table
- Books
- A floral arrangement in a basket
- A Grecian inspired bust
- Assorted plates
- A pair of birds
- An atomizer
- A candle
A Smaller Vignette
I don’t actually own a sofa/console table. So to create my vignette I used the antique washstand in our entry. It has been a while since I featured a spring-inspired vignette here.
I then gathered up a few books.
Then I went to the decor closet and pulled out:
- A basket
- Some white faux flowers
- A Grecian inspired bust
- Assorted plates
- A pair of birds
- An atomizer
- A candle
Adding And Layering
Our antique English washstand was purchased by Mr. Decor when he was stationed in England almost 30 years ago.
The Prince of Wales mirror was found at an estate sale in Dallas several years ago.
The books were of course laid down first.
Then I added the Grecian bust. As she looks left I felt that she looked best on the right-hand side.
Then I added in the two basket items. The woven treasures are from Mr. Decor’s birthplace, Panama.
They were made by members of the Kuna Indian tribe.
The photographs for the linky party were due while I still had piles of snow in my yard from #Texasnowmageddon. I’m pretty pleased that I had so many of the items featured in the inspiration photo just sitting in my decor closet.
Up next is Our Southern Home.
I hope you have enjoyed this month’s Pinterest Challenge.

Seeing your nest reminds me it’s time to put away my snowfolk (well, we still have PLENTY of snow!) and try to force a little spring here inside. It’s lovely, Laura!

HI Laura, I love all the elements you were able to pull from your closet because everything looks like it belongs just there. Love the back stories to some of your finds! Happy Day! laura in Colorado

What a lovely grouping, Laura! I love your vignette, but also that mirror behind it is stunning! I’ve been looking for a vintage mirror and yours makes me even more anxious to find one!
I’d love it if you want to share your spring table at my Sundays on Silverado Link Party, too, which is open now.

What a beautiful table Laura. And that mirror is gorgeous. I just love that you were able to find things from your closet. It’s such a great feeling when you can style something this beautiful, without having to go out and buy anything new. Lovely!

Wowza, the fact that you pulled that together so quickly is amazing. I adore everything about it! Don’t forget to leave me some birds in your will. If I die first, you can have my chubby bird. 😉 Thank for always joining in. Especially with this crazy weather. Pinned

Your pretty entry table speaks spring to me Laura! Can I come over and shop in your decorating closet? I’m so impressed how you pulled it all together so perfectly!

Laura, your little table is perfect for staging a lovely vignette. Love the bust and the beautiful books. How special to use the baskets. Laughed at #texassnowmaggedon. I was surrounded by snow too as I styled for spring. Thank goodness it’s gone now. Happy Spring, sweet friend.

Isn’t it fun when you have all the things you need already in your house? I love your little birds; perfect styling staples for this time of year! With the mirror backdrop, this grouping is perfectly classic; so pretty! Happy Spring, Laura!

Oh wow, this is so stunningly beautiful, I don’t know if I would change it all summer! Just gorgeous and so elegant with that bust, natural elements and that amazing mirror. I want it all!

Such a pretty spring vignette! I love the English washstand. And all of your items look perfect for spring. I love that you have a decor closet. I think I need one of those too! Thanks for the inspiration.

Lovely vignette, Laura!! I love that you included the two woven pieces from Panama. The basket in particular is woven really beautifully… I need to apologize. I started over early on the first day we published and thought I’d left a comment, but then I saw your bust on someone else’s link and realized I didn’t think I had. I do apologize for this oversight! Working takes its toll on me and when there are a big group of us to visit, well, that makes it tougher to get around.
Happily, I really enjoy your rendition of this month’s spring sofa table challenge. My mother had a wash stand very similar to yours. It looks lovely with your Grecian bust on it, the atomizer and your sweet bird and other pretties!!!
Enjoy your lovely entryway and this weekend’s wet weather,
Spring hugs,
Barb 🙂
