Hello sweet friends! Will you be celebrating All Hallows Eve? On my daily walks with Gracie, I learned that most of the children in my neighborhood will be coming by to visit Storybook Cottage this evening. Mr. Decor has set up a table and we will place our candy on it. (I’ll share a photograph later today on Instagram.) Hopefully, the first kid with a large bag will not wipe us out. Smile.
I’d love to hear your ideas on how you plan to socially distance but still celebrate today.
All Hallows Eve
Earlier this week I revealed this year’s annual costume challenge in glorious color! Tradition also has it that we share many of the same images in spooktacular black and white on Halloween.

It was a very busy week on Decor To Adore. I also shared:

Love and Kindness Shared Here
Yesterday I shared A Truly Spooktacular Home. This post ended up being a bit controversial. A comment and a few IG/FB messages were left about the cultural appropriation of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead also known as All Saints Day).
My friends, I hope you always find DTA to be a welcome and happy place. My main goal here is to share bits of bliss and beauty with the world.
In this instance, I truly believe that the beautiful images shared of this lovely home exhibit cultural appreciation.
At the time of posting, I did not feel it necessary to state that the homeowner is of Hispanic heritage.
The couple is Catholic and fully aware of the sanctity of All Saints Day as a Holy Day. One that they fully embrace and celebrate.
Here in Texas where we live Dia De Los Muertos, much like Cinco de Mayo, is a day of celebration. Texas shares a long and close association with the country of Mexico and its amazing people. It is a wonderful cultural melting pot of many beautiful traditions. I encourage you to learn more.
Many of you are aware that Mr. Decor was born and raised in Panama. He loves to celebrate the land, its beautiful people, their customs, and lovely culture.
As a writer, I strive to always be gracious and considerate of others. Respectful dialogue is always welcome.
When people come together in a kind and loving manner great things can happen.
Let us strive to build one another up. We need this now, more than ever.
If you celebrate, have a very Happy Halloween dear friends!
I’ll return from my candy sugar coma on Wednesday.

Laura, you are always so gracious and considerate of others.
I don’t know how or why some people take offense at this – unbelievable.

The two of you look amazing! Well…living in the country we don’t get trick or treaters at our door except for our sweet grandkids. No problem social distancing here. Happy Hallow Eve and I hope November starts well for you!

I made up bags containing a lollipop, a bag of pretzels, chips, popcorn, etc and a piece or two of candy, and we placed them on a tiered plant stand on our front walk. Sadly the snow depressed turnout greatly but my daughter said that one little girl screamed with delight at receiving cheese curls!
