A lamp and a chair

Today rounds up a week-long series on decorating a room fit for a wee world traveler. In the last post, I showed you how I made a customized typography basket and sewed a simple Sumo banner. (Say that fast 5 times. :) This post will cover how I customized a lamp for Sweet Boys room as well as an idea for a cost-saving slipcover. A lamp and a chair. A lamp and a chair I have had this lovely little slipper chair for years. It originally belonged to my great-grandmother. Over the years it ... View the Post

Make your own typography basket

In last Monday's post I revealed the completion of Sweet Boy's room. One element of the room that visitors have commented on is the sweet little basket that you see on the floor to the right of the dresser. Typography is so popular right now. Both Pottery Barn and Ballard have several items in their catalogs. But as you may know, I always like to put my own twist on great ideas. A bedroom fit for a wee world traveler

Today it is back to school for Sweet Boy. Woohoo! When school ended in early May the boy and I made a "to do wishlist" and I am happy to say Sweet Boy deemed it a successful summer. Most of the ribbon that was in its original packaging was hidden under huge tangled piles of vintage ricrac (rick rack), seam binding and ribbon. It is amazing what you can find if you are willing to dig and work a bit. Vintage ribbon and notion giveaway. Where Gypsies Shop

My friend Mary lives very close to Venice in California. She took us shopping on Abbot Kinney Blvd. which was definitely my kind of place~adorable shops and restaurants tucked into darling old homes. Where Gypsies Shop, first up: Tumbleweed And Dandelion. Where Gypsies Shop I knew I was going to fall in love with this sweet shop when I read owner Lizabeth McGraw's message board. I like her thinking! Pure bliss. Ooh, the chandelier! I love what she did with the ... View the Post

The Cutest Craft Studio Ever

Last Monday's post featured my friend Mary's adorable cottage bungalow. Today I am sharing her truly inspiring creative space. It is right outside the french doors of her master bedroom. The Cutest Craft Studio Ever On the way, I passed by this pretty table. Sweet happy sighs. I never thought I'd say this, but there was almost too much beautiful eye candy. Almost. :) Vintage wallpaper and great new wrapping paper. Dream? Absolutely. It's so much goodness. Let's stop ... View the Post
