Earlier this week I ordered the books for the next three classes I will soon begin taking. I found myself STILL irritated and bitter about last semester’s photography class. I don’t much care for being irritated and bitter. So I sought to change my attitude. I imagine that the wise people responsible for selecting the required classes for various majors strive to make sure that upon graduating a 20 something student will be a well rounded person. But perhaps if you are a 44 year old student ... View the Post
A Delicious Shrimp Louie Salad for Fit Friday
I don’t know about you but here in Phoenix the last thing I want to do is turn on a hot oven during dinnertime. We’ve been enjoying several delicious salads and Shrimp Louie is one of our favorites. You begin by layering a large platter with washed and dried crisp lettuce. I like the butter variety for this salad. In the center place a generous mound of delicious cooked shrimp. Next add in tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado's, lemon slices (to squeeze over salad), olives, and hard boiled egg ... View the Post
The 80’s Wants Their Bathroom Back is Finished!
Sweet Boy is officially back in school! With summer vacation over let the DIY delights commence! Did anyone even remember that I was working on the Fashionista’s bathroom? The 80’s Wants Their Bathroom Back is Finished! The 80’s Wants Their Bathroom Back is Finished! I don’t blame you if you forgot. After all I began the project back in March. If you remember there were all sorts of setbacks. But basically this was the “BEFORE”. Brown yucky cabinets, old faucets, a nasty vanity top…you ... View the Post
My Best DIY Projects of the Summer

The baseboard trim and doors did not get painted because I was too busy reminding my kids to pick up their shoes. The guest bathroom vanity didn’t get a fabulous “AFTER” shot because the “BEFORE” remains along with several bits of ... View the Post
Touring the Rockefeller Home Bassett Hall
Today’s post marks the end of my summer vacation series. I hope you will enjoy Touring the Rockefeller Home Bassett Hall. In almost gleeful anticipation as a mother, it also marks the end of the last week of summer vacation for Sweet Boy. He returns to school on Monday. Yippeeee! While it has been wonderful to focus on my children this summer I am truly itching to return to project mode. Touring the Rockefeller Home Bassett Hall Did you know that if it were not for the generosity and ... View the Post
De Witt Museum and the Summer Gardens & Attire at Colonial Williamsburg
Coming near the end of our trip there was one place I had been looking forward to visiting, the DeWitt Museum at Colonial Williamsburg. When I was last at Colonial Williamsburg I was so busy photographing the holiday wreaths, interiors, and fashions that I ran out of time. I was determined to go there and had heard it was a museum that children would enjoy. De Witt Museum and the Summer Gardens & Attire at Colonial Williamsburg De Witt Museum and the Summer Gardens & Attire at ... View the Post
