Decor To Adore Back To School Tablescape

Sunday evening we had our annual “Back to School” feast. For some reason, I am usually the only one excited about this yearly event. :) I created a fun back to school tablescape to help set the tone. I get such joy from creating tablescapes that the kids will love. Scrabble tiles are always fun. I started by creating a table runner of college ruled paper. I used double stick tape to hold it in place. Protractors, rulers, and pencils also help to carry out the theme. The chalkboard placemats ... View the Post

A Bit of Fall for the Front Door

Do you hear that? The silence? That’s right, all is quiet on the cottage front because today is BACK TO SCHOOL! The day all mothers half dread and half adore. We had a very busy weekend preparing for this auspicious day. But I did sneak in one wee craft for the front door. A Bit of Fall for the Front Door. A Bit of Fall for the Front Door My friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life is hosting a Fall Home Tour and has graciously invited me to join in the fun. It is scheduled for September 7th ... Let’s All Plant Weeds

Bits of Bliss Wiser

Yesterday I turned another year older. Here is Bits of Bliss Wiser. Bits of Bliss Wiser As a whole, a birthday can be a traumatic experience for a woman. It’s no secret that our society values YOUTH. But a few years ago I decided to be really HAPPY about birthdays. I don’t just enjoy one day. Birthday WEEK is bliss for me. I do this because there are people who would give anything for just one more. My own dad had just 21 birthdays. My mom saw only 26 years. Together that is just 47 ... View the Post

Turning Point

Recently I dropped Sweet Guy off for a one-week long intensive leadership training camp. In a major Boy Scout Turning Point he earned a coveted bolo cord. Turning Point The Twin Arrows leadership development course is put on by the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America. It draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles, and successful outdoor leadership organizations throughout the country. To attend the camp a scout must hold a ... View the Post

A Lighter End of Summer Schedule

Hello, dear lovelies! Did you have a wonderful weekend? I spent a good majority of it with my nose in a schoolbook. This week is midterms for me. Today is also the day I am driving Sweet Guy to a weeklong Boy Scout camp. I plan to use my bit of free time wisely. I imagine that I might finally find the solar-powered outdoor lights Mr. Décor has been wanting to string up in our trees. Here are thoughts for A Lighter End of Summer Schedule. A Lighter End of Summer Schedule I have a number of ... View the Post
