Oh this past week just flew by! In addition to the Easter holiday we also celebrated the Fashionista’s birthday and went to Round Top, Texas for 2 1/2 days for the antique fair. That left just 2 days to work on the living room in between taking two tests, writing two papers and trying to keep the family fed. Whew! I did manage to get all the floors waxed. That was a big job that had to be done in sections so we could still maneuver within the house. Once the floors were dry I laid down a ... View the Post
When You Like What You Like Happy Accidents
Last week I revealed our new front door. It is truly a case of When You Like What You Like Happy Accidents. When You Like What You Like Happy Accidents In the comments I heard over and over that our door didn’t look like the door I had found on Pinterest that said it was painted in “Kind Green”. I agree. When I went to the actual store to pick up the paint sample I was shocked by just HOW MUCH the sample didn’t look like the picture. I true case of you can’t believe everything you ... View the Post

Yet it seems somewhat shallow and dishonest for me to only show life’s perfections. It's Curtains for curtains. Because that isn’t real and I often learn more from mistakes than I do successes. How about you? So, I bring you my kitchen curtains. It’s Curtains I think I should share the vision of what I was trying to create. I wanted café ... View the Post
Acceptance
I wonder after a caterpillar has spun its cocoon and wrapped itself in the dark chrysalis, just waiting for transformative beauty, does it ever second guess itself? Chrysalis of the Orange-spotted tiger clearwing. I’ve been there. So many times. When it feels like eternity just waiting for transformation…or just some small bit of beauty to appear in life. Even worse is when you are stuck in the caterpillar phase refusing to change or accept. Commander caterpillar Recently I’ve ... View the Post
