Slipcovered French Settee And Other Bits of Fall Decor

Today I thought I would share additional information about the Slipcovered French Settee And Other Bits of Fall Decor that didn't make the recent home tour cut.  Slipcovered French Settee And Other Bits of Fall Decor I originally purchased this settee in the dark ages before blogging. It was won on an eBay auction for $20. The caning was in need of repair, as was the upholstery and wood finish. Approximately $300 was invested in the piece to repair it. Linen Pillow Shams Made from Scraps

During the recent rains, I spent a good deal of time in my upstairs attic hideaway where my sewing machine is kept. The most recent project is a set of linen pillow shams made from scraps.  The project began due to another project that I have been slowly working on. I am creating a quilt for Sweet Guy made from tiny dime size pieces. These lovely bits of bliss were hand sewn together almost 100 years ago by my great grandmother.  I have spent several afternoons repairing the delicate ... View the Post

Neutral Bedroom Ideas For Fall

As the evenings begin to grow cooler I find that I am drawn to neutral bedroom ideas for fall. I generally like to live with color like that found in my most recent bedroom tour. But with the falling leaves, I am beginning to consider wrapping the Storybook Cottage bedroom up in cozy shades of cream, ecru, and sand.  The key to successfully using neutrals in a space is to use layers in various shades and textures. You also have to consider the message you want to convey. ... View the Post

But since many of you had asked, I decided to share an overcast view of the Late Summer Cabinet of ... View the Post
