As the evenings begin to grow cooler I find that I am drawn to neutral bedroom ideas for fall. I generally like to live with color like that found in my most recent bedroom tour. But with the falling leaves, I am beginning to consider wrapping the Storybook Cottage bedroom up in cozy shades of cream, ecru, and sand. The key to successfully using neutrals in a space is to use layers in various shades and textures. You also have to consider the message you want to convey. ... View the Post
Late Summer Cabinet of Curiosities
This summer has been one of the wettest on record. Living under a constant rain cloud it has felt more like Seattle or London rather than D/FW. This has made photography quite the challenge and so much of my summer decorating has gone undocumented here on the blog. I am now in the midst of transitioning the summer themed accessories at Storybook Cottage to those that feel more like early fall. But since many of you had asked, I decided to share an overcast view of the Late Summer Cabinet of ... View the Post

New 2017-2018 Interior Design Trends
Last Friday I attended Metrocon at Dallas Market Hall to see all of the new 2017-2018 Interior Design trends. The Interior Resources booth displayed several interesting area rugs. I loved the colors and various textures used in this design. The tile selections by Walker Zanger were breathtakingly beautiful. The green color palette was so lovely and cheerful. This vessel sink was absolutely stunning in person. Sadly, the booth was unmanned and there were no business cards ... View the Post

It's fun to try and make the return to school a happy event by having a special back to school dinner. This back to school breakfast party by Pink Peppermint Design is so cute. I adore how she uses flash cards to create a scholastic themed chandelier. This school house themed party by Knitties ... View the Post
