Atlantic~Pacific Monogram Necklace Knockoff

One of my very favorite fashion blogs to read is Atlantic~Pacific. I adore Blair’s style. She has a seemingly effortless, but very elegant, way of putting pieces together. I love how she wears jewelry. So I created an Atlantic~Pacific Monogram Necklace Knockoff. Atlantic~Pacific Monogram Necklace Knockoff Often her outfits are things that I myself would never think to pair. But I am so inspired by her creativity.  After reading her blog for awhile you begin to notice how she ... View the Post

Spice Girl

I spent Sunday afternoon cleaning and organizing my spice cabinet. It didn’t really seem like work. So this Spice Girl made a few changes. It all began when I spotted this old spice rack at a thrift store a few weeks ago. Do you see the $5.00 price tag? It made me think about what my current baking center looked like. Then I spotted this gem at the Goodwill. (You can also find vintage and antique spice racks and bottles on eBay.) While I have plans for the blue spice rack, I gave this ... View the Post

A Light Fixture Goes From Brass To Class

I have been giving this brass light fixture, which hangs in my entry, the evil eye for seven years. I finally decided to do something about it.  The makeover budget was less than $20. A Light Fixture Goes From Brass To Class A Light Fixture Goes From Brass To Class A favorite blogger of mine, Julia from Hooked On Houses, wrote a post over two years ago in which she gave a similar light fixture a makeover with spray paint. I gave it serious thought. For two years. I really wanted to ... View the Post

Pockets Full of Posies

Recently I have seen several excellent tutorials for fabric wallets and clutches throughout blog land. I thought of my small stash of 1940’s fabric scraps, but alas I didn’t have enough yardage to make a large clutch or wallet, so I thought “Why not make something even smaller?” Here are Pockets Full of Posies. Pockets Full of Posies I cut out two pieces of fabric that measured 5 1/2” x  7 1/2”. Next, I cut one piece of double faced fusible interfacing the same size and placed it between ... View the Post

I Hate My Toaster or Oh So Cozy

Sometimes a girl just doesn’t know what to title her post!!! I Hate My Toaster or Oh So Cozy. I Hate My Toaster or Oh So Cozy Our toaster gets used every day, so it is always out. I have a love/hate relationship with my toaster. I love that it works. I hate that no matter how hard I try, parts of it won’t come clean. Every so often I cheat on my toaster by perusing the Dualit web page.   I think I have mentioned Sweet Boy is getting braces, the Fashionista is in college and she needs ... View the Post

A Wii Little Token

I am the parent of a nine year old boy. He is currently on summer break. Sweet Boy loves video games. He would spend all day playing them if he could. But he has to earn that time with A Wii Little Token A Wii Little Token I try to fill his days with trips to museums, tennis lessons, the library, arts and crafts and water sports. But there is one activity he would rather do above all others: play the Wii. The first week of summer vacation I gave him free reign to do whatever he wanted. Big ... View the Post
