Hello sweet friends! Today I am rounding up some of my favorite holiday recipes, tablescapes and more to celebrate Thanksgiving We Gather Together. My dear friend Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home has organized a great group of inspirational posts designed to help you create a lovely Thanksgiving for your friends and family.
If you are coming over from Our Southern Home may I say “Welcome!” Didn’t Christy’s charcuterie board look delicious?
Thanksgiving We Gather Together
This year there will just be three of us at our Thanksgiving table. Rather than spending all day cooking the turkey is going in the crockpot and the family will be setting up and decorating our first REAL tree in years. I am SO excited to reveal this year’s theme!
Earlier in the season, I had shared a collection of some of my favorite fall tablescapes.
In the formal dining room, the 2019 fall harvest table setting I had created really hasn’t changed too much except for the centerpiece.
I am planning to create a small table design for Thanksgiving breakfast in the kitchen incorporating elements that I shared in this recent post.
Recipes For Small Gatherings
When you are cooking for a smaller group at Thanksgiving it can be a bit of a challenge. Many recipes are made to feed eight or more! Now, I like leftovers for only for a day or so. So here are a collection of recipes with fewer servings.
My friend Leslie Sinclair, in between her book signings, recently shared a cauliflower rice dressing recipe. It accompanied a lovely roast chicken and vegetables. I cannot wait to try it!
Who else is a fan of side dishes? I can’t wait to try Tuscan Herb Mashed Potatoes. It serves 4-6 but Hello, LEFTOVERS!
Orange glazed baby carrots.
Pear and Pomegranate salad. It looks so pretty.
Parmesan Rosettes are made with refrigerated breadsticks. So easy!
Oh in case you want to cook your turkey in the crockpot too I shared the link for the easy 4 ingredient recipe HERE.
I’m Here For The Pie
Let’s face it, dessert is the best part of any meal. But I never really boarded the pumpkin train.
Rocky Road Cheesecake is No Bake!
I can’t wait to try this cream cheese concoction, Pecan Cream Pie.
Also, gimme Maple Bourbon Apple Tarts.
Up next on the tour is my sweet friend Cindy of County Road 407 with the best hostess gift ever!
So tell me what you’ve got cookin’.

I love your Thanksgiving tablescape Laura and your centerpiece is really pretty too! Thanks so much for all the dinner ideas. I ‘m supposed to bring something to my parent’s house so it will be fun to try one of these dishes. I can’t wait to see how you decorate your tree. I know it’s going to be gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving and hugs, CoCo

Your dinner sounds amazing. I love cooking small and even have the perfect post I did a while back sharing how to do Chicken and Dressing in the crockpot. So easy and tastes just like it came out of the oven. I love some of your recipes and can’t wait to give them a try. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

With only three of us, and each liking a different part, in CA I asked the meat department for a split turkey. Fresh turkey they saw in half just like a split chicken. We got dark meat, white meat and a drumstick for the boy, but not a ton of leftovers which was great.
Now I tried to do that here in Texas, but was told by HEB they “only do ‘real meat’ in their meat department, all that chicken and stuff comes from the warehouse”. ♀️

Wowza, those desserts and side dishes looked yummy but not as good lookin’ as your table and centerpiece. You always have the best looking tables. You are quite the hostess! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m all about the sides too. Macy has a t-shirt that lists all of her fave side dishes that she wears this time of year. 😉

Ok Laura now I am inspired by your lovely decor…. and starving! I am all about the sides and those carrots look divine. I think the cauliflower dressing might be a great option for our gluten free meal!

So many delicious recipes, I am going to have to save them! That pecan cake looks decadent! My family expects the same foods on the table each Thanksgiving, but there are plenty of other dinners to add these other wonderful dishes too!

Your table is beautiful! I am drooling over the menu you have planned!

I jumping over to see the maple bourbon apple tarts and not just because bourbon is in the title. Hope you have the best Thanksgiving Laura!

Wow, Laura, what a roundup! I’ll take one of each, thank you very much. Pinning! I have found that leftovers beyond a day do get really stale to the palate. I try to either freeze or share with a single brother or other sibling who doesn’t like to cook all the time. It works when we’re all local to each other. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. I’m so happy to be in your company on this blog hop.

Laura, it sounds like you have a lovely, intimate Thanksgiving planned. Your menu sounds delicious! Years ago, when I first graduated from college, my parents had just moved to Florida. So, my younger sister and I had Thanksgiving together in Pittsburgh for 2. I made cornish game hens that looked like mini turkeys. We had a special holiday together, and the next day I hosted a big bash around my alma mater’s football game. This year there will be 18 of us and I only have one oven. So, I’m making a 24 pound bird and gravy the day before. On Thanksgiving, I’ll make my first ever slow-cooker turkey (2 boneless breasts). So, I’m going big and you’re going small in a crock pot. Wishing us both success!

Everything looks delicious! My mom use to make us a pear and cottage cheese salad, but the pomegranates look yummy! We are going to our oldest daughters home, but hubby will smoke a turkey breast. They are delicious!!
Happy Thanksgiving,
Jann

Laura, one year when there were only 4 of us for Thanksgiving, I roasted a large chicken instead of a turkey and it worked great. Everything else was the same as usual but I just made smaller amounts. The rolls you shared look wonderful We’re having Thanksgiving I’m Atlanta with our girls this year so I will only have to help. Thanks for sharing all the recipes and your beautiful centerpiece. Happy Thanksgiving to you and family.

Your table is so pretty, Laura, and the recipe! I’d love to try them all but I would have to start from the end, with the deserts.

Beautiful and delicious ideas there, Laura. It sounds like you’ll enjoy a sweet, quiet Thanksgiving doing something fun with your family.
Due to the fact that Thanksgiving is very late this year and that we’re retired – we decorated for Christmas earlier this month and will be hosting a family gathering that will combine both Thanksgiving and Christmas (since it’s impossible to host another gathering where my sisters can travel in during the month of December). Looking forward to a busy, but fun day with all the traditional fixings.
Kind regards,
Linda
