Welcome to the Early Fall Home Tour 2019 hosted by my lovely friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. If you are visiting from ZDesign At Home let me say, “Welcome to Storybook Cottage!”
Early Fall Home Tour 2019
It is still really hot here in Fort Worth so I’m not quite ready for autumns warm color palette. I decided to transition from the late summer season by pairing teal, turquoise and brown with copious amounts of white and cream.
Formal Dining Area
I absolutely love using the Friendly Village china pattern in the fall.
For the centerpiece, a simple wooden box was filled with a fresh flower bouquet from the grocery store.
Aside from the fresh flowers, I didn’t purchase anything new. Existing accessories already on hand were used in a new way.
Over on the sideboard, the theme continues.
Additional wooden boxes were also used. They were filled with special treasures and heirlooms.
Living Room
The formal dining room is right alongside the living room in an open-concept space.
We recently purchased a new English rolled arm sofa.
The cabinet of curiosities also received a bit of an early fall makeover.
Alongside the cabinet, a carved wooden squirrel keeps his eye on the room.
Perhaps he has his eye on the ingredients for a harvest hoedown.
The living room is quite dark so I have hung mirrors on two of the walls to reflect the light. I certainly love how the bar cart mirror showcases the mantel.
Various pumpkins collected over the years have been gathered together.
The two felted wool pumpkins came from the Target dollar spot. Deal!
I still love the fall topiaries I found a few years ago.
Kitchen
Finally we arrive in the kitchen. I think copper pairs so well with soft shades of green and aqua.
A bit of brown was added in as well to tie it into the formal dining and living area.
You can see the complete kitchen tour HERE.
I certainly hope you have enjoyed this early fall home tour.
I’ll be back on Thursday to kick off costume season with the Downton Abbey inspired dress I recently made.
Happy Fall Y’all!
Laura
Up next on the tour is my sweet friend Rhoda from Southern Hospitality.

Your Downton dress is divine! And I love the home tour. It’s elegant but warm. Your table setting rocks my world — love the china and of course I’ve always admired your fireplace and remember your tutorial. I’d better get on the stick before Christmas comes! (I saw those pumpkins too!)

Laura, I love your use of Friendly Village in the DR and how you carried that throughout the buffet and also in the cabinet of curiosities. The bar cart and that mirror reflection of the mantel is gorgeous. And so is your outfit!

Your tour looks scrumptious. And I think I have that same print on your mantel upstairs in our game room. Did you get it from Pier One? I never go up there so because of the 2 inch coating of dust, it could be different. 😉

Wow! Your dress looks like you could walk right into DA and be right at home with the Crawly clan. I love the rich purple and the pretty jewellery you added. Remember when Lady Mary bobbed her hair much like your pretty style? Perfection!
Your house always looks so welcoming and stylish. The Friendly Village dishes, the flowers and other accessories you have added just make it look warmer and cozier for the autumn. I love your mantle piece decor and the way you have dressed the buffet. Makes me want to dig out my fall decorations and get the house prepped for the cooler days.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and peeks at your gown. Cheers!
