All summer this website has been limping along with one post a week and BAM! this week I shared three different projects. I’ve been in a rut about any home DIY since last spring. But this week someone or something lit a match under me. I’ll post all the direct links to the three posts at the bottom of the page. Today I’m painting a bathroom. Saturday Smiles Get It Done.
Saturday Smiles Get It Done
I’m trying to also get organized BEFORE the holiday rush begins. I’ve been cleaning out clutter and piling it in the shed for our neighborhood garage sale in October. Keeping me on track is this 30 Day Organizing Challenge. However, I work on it when I can and not necessarily in order.
Cute Fall Looks
More and more ladies are buying vintage or sewing/purchasing retro looks. I must admit that I am drawn to classic styles more and more. Above all, I agree with Katie Licata that it is SO EASY to just put on a dress. No mix, mess or matching. One and done. See a week of her outfits HERE.
Speaking of Retro
I adored the Colorful Fall Table Michael created using several thrift-store finds.
What To Watch
I think I’m supposed to feel ashamed to admit that I LOVE Hallmark Holiday Movies. But I don’t. Each year I print out the schedule. In addition, I then check the movies off one by one.
Yes, I know it’s generally one of three storylines. But I don’t care. It’s rated G happy holiday magic.
I am MOST excited about The Christmas Club premiering on November 17th. My lovely Arizona friend, Barbara Hinske, wrote the book. She just came back from Canada to see part of it being filmed. Barbara and her husband play extras in the bakery scene.

I love all the Hallmark movies too. Be sure to check out The Christmas Club on 11/17. That is the book written by our friend Barbara Hinske. She just came back from Canada to see the filming and she and her husband are also extras in one scene. So fun to see all the pictures of the filming and hear her tell all about it. She also just retired and is not a lawyer anymore, she’s writing full time. Several more books coming up and hopefully more movies.

I know what you mean about Hallmark movies. They really are all the same — three plotlines and so formulaic anyone could write one. I’ve always thought that could be a great creative writing class assignment. And yet, I watch them (some more than once) and have my favorite actors too. It doesn’t matter that I know just what will happen. But I will say it DOES bug me that they start showing them in July once a week! It’s like when I went to Hobby Lobby in late July and they were in FULL Christmas — I mean, not just crafty things but big trees, lights, garlands, you name it. I could hardly find fall. I have issues with Christmas before Halloween!
But I digress . Thanks for the schedule and all your wonderful inspiration!

Happy you’re getting back in the groove. I’m back to posting and projects too.

I love love love Hallmark Movies and I always have. Most movies out there today are so full of fighting, violence, anger and hate that I can’t stand the way I feel when the credits roll. I’ll take happy any time!
Being in a rut is no fun. I’m glad you are getting back to projects that make your heart SING! <3
