Guten Tag~

I don’t have many professional photographs of Sweet Boy as a baby and small child. It’s not that I didn’t want any. Because believe me when I say, “Momma tried”. He just HATED having his picture taken. He could be smiling and happy, but if a camera was brought out ~ smiles would instantly turned to tears. Luckily, he was unaware that the precious image of him below was captured by his Uncle A.J. (Old school scan = poor quality, my apologies.) The other day I was cleaning his room when I ... A Light Fixture Goes From Brass To Class

I have been giving this brass light fixture, which hangs in my entry, the evil eye for seven years. I finally decided to do something about it.  The makeover budget was less than $20. A Light Fixture Goes From Brass To Class A Light Fixture Goes From Brass To Class A favorite blogger of mine, Julia from Hooked On Houses, wrote a post over two years ago in which she gave a similar light fixture a makeover with spray paint. I gave it serious thought. For two years. I really wanted to ... View the Post

Decorating Around Drapes I Hate

Do you have a big ugly decorating elephant that lives in your house? For me it’s the drapes in our family room. Long mustard drapes. Ugh. Since I have to live with the horror awhile longer I decided to try and pull the focus away from the drapes to other, prettier things in the room. Now, there isn’t a big reveal at the moment. I am a one woman show and these things take time. But,  I  am making progress on the room and thought I would share what I have done so far. I found my inspiration ... View the Post

A Memory Keeper’s Daughter

I grew up in a modest brick ranch house built in the early 60’s that was purchased new by my family. For over 40 years very little was removed or changed. As other cherished family members passed on, my mom and dad collected sweet bits and pieces of their lives and added them to their own. Little bits of beauty could be found in the yard… …in the trees… …growing in the garden… …and boy oh boy…in the closets, tucked in chests and dressers, behind hutches, under the beds, in the ... Fall Fun With Felt

I’ve been busy this week creating a few new, but inexpensive, fun fall projects. I am having Fall Fun With Felt. First up I made a holiday wreath using leftover yarn found at the Goodwill. I cut several extra snowflakes out to use in other projects that I will reveal when it is actually the holidays. :) Of course, this didn’t solve my dilemma of needing a new fall wreath so felt and I became friends again. Fall Fun With Felt I overestimated the amount of felt that I needed for my ... View the Post

Shake Your Pom Pom Wreath Tutorial

I created this wreath a few months ago knowing that the holidays would sneak up on me and be here like… tomorrow. I am so glad I did. Here is the Shake Your Pom Pom Wreath Tutorial. While out shopping at Goodwill I spied a huge bag of leftover yarn and thought I could incorporate a bit of the yarn trend with a pom-pom wreath. (The base was a recycled grapevine wreath.) I know you’ve probably seen pom-pom wreaths. One of my favorites is by Bleubird Vintage. I thought that using a light ... View the Post
