I created a few Halloween favors for a recent tablescape as well as some treats for a few special kids in my neighborhood. A few years ago I had seen common peat pots elevated to Easter bliss in an issue of Somerset Life. Recently I was reading Heather Bullard’s Souvenir Autumn Gazette. Inside this online gem was an article on creating chalkboard treat baskets. As luck would have it I had some round peat pots leftover from another project and some black paint on hand. I rounded up some ... View the Post
Paper Rosettes
In Monday’s post I shared with you that I had covered up a decorating faux pas with a paper rosette. The Paper Rosettes are so fun and take just minutes to make. Supplies and Tutorial You will need: Three pages from a book. (For the rosettes I’ve shown it was an average sized paperback.) A hot glue gun (Although you could use regular glue and a clothespin to hold the pages in place while drying.) A bone folder (To help create a crisp crease/fold.) You can purchase bone folders at any ... View the Post
A Spooktacular Setting
I don’t think I have ever blogged about my neighborhood during Halloween. We are blessed to live in a cul ~ de ~ sac of kindness. Phyllis always sets up a candy station in her front yard first. Ponce plays music all night long and Alan delivers refreshments via a wagon and a cooler. It’s so much fun that my kids actually prefer to remain in “the circle” and pass out candy then go begging for it door to door. Every year I make a little something special for the neighborhood kids. I myself grew up in a farming community where the harvest was celebrated. My elementary school’s biggest fund raiser was the school carnival held every October. ... View the Post
Atlantic~Pacific Monogram Necklace Knockoff
One of my very favorite fashion blogs to read is Atlantic~Pacific. I adore Blair’s style. She has a seemingly effortless, but very elegant, way of putting pieces together. I love how she wears jewelry. So I created an Atlantic~Pacific Monogram Necklace Knockoff. Atlantic~Pacific Monogram Necklace Knockoff Often her outfits are things that I myself would never think to pair. But I am so inspired by her creativity. After reading her blog for awhile you begin to notice how she ... View the Post
The Patina Style of Sweet Salvage
Every month a fabulous four day shopping event begins on the third Thursday in Phoenix. Sweet Salvage features various vendors who create amazing booths filled to the brim with beautiful vignettes of treasures collected from near and far. Each month there is an entirely fresh and new design theme. September’s offering was “French Market” and it did not disappoint. I spied the lovely lantern on the left right away. If it had been electric it would have gone right home with me. (Mr. ... View the Post
