Have you recently downsized and are struggling to make your new living arrangements work? Two of my all time favorite clients, Ron and Suzi, were so saddened to hear Mr. Décor and I were moving. Over the course of 8 years I had decorated two of their homes with Mr. Décor as my wonderful handyman. Last year they moved into a wonderful senior living complex. We worked together to downsize from their 3000 square foot home to a 1500 square foot apartment and their place turned out beautifully. Suzi ... View the Post
The Place of the Red Willow
Taos Pueblo is considered to be the oldest continuously habited community in the United States. The Native American tribe of the Pueblo people have lived here for 1000 years. It is The Place of the Red Willow. PLEASE READ: Before going any further, with respect for the Pueblo people, I please ask that you do not “pin”, copy, save or try to sell any of the photos in this post. L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue~ A Beautiful French Town Filled With Antiques
We began our day trip to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue fairly early. This is a good idea when attending antique markets so that you can get there before the good stuff is gone. First, a quick trip to Madame Giuseppi’s patisserie (bakery) in Plan d’Orgon to pick up the worlds best sweet bread and espresso to get our motor’s running. This charming town nestled upon the banks of the Sorgue river hosts a traditional food market as well as an antique market almost every Sunday. It is also famous for its ... View the Post
The Miraculous Staircase
If all is going well the Fashionista and I (plus Rudi and Franz the doxies) are driving through the great state of Texas by now. We hope to reach Fort Worth by sundown tonight. When I began planning our travel route I remembered that I had never written about the gorgeous church we had visited while in Santa Fe two years ago. Today I was ready to share this miracle. The Loretta Chapel is a former Roman Catholic church and now a museum and wedding chapel. In 1827 the archbishop of Santa Fe, ... View the Post
A Texodus Party and a Festive Party Favor
As you read this the Fashionista and I are probably driving across New Mexico with two travel loving dachshunds in the backseat :) Mr. Décor and Sweet Guy went ahead of us in a separate car. Recently, my marvelous friend Marty arranged a going away luncheon for us that was truly magical. She also made me a darling photo album of all of our precious times together AND brought me the pretty white statement necklace I am wearing in all the shots. Many of my dear friends came to wish us ... View the Post
Home Hunters Texas Edition #3 The Storybook Charmer
The last home we are considering to make our own is the Storybook Charmer. It aptly received that title on the original architectural plans. It’s a brick home with a detached garage in a quiet neighborhood. Walking in the front door there is a great room that leads into a sunroom. The great room has a brick fireplace. Still wondering exactly how I would decorate all that! Tip!: A mirror should always reflect something beautiful. The sunroom leads into the backyard. The back ... View the Post
