Turn baby turn! My love for our “new” oil rubbed bronze door handles has created a disco sized inferno of love in my heart. Let me share the dated “before” shot. These cheap builders grade brass atrocities could be found on every single door and closet in our home. Mr. Décor and I removed the door knobs as we were in the process of repainting all of our interior doors and trim. (More on that next post.) Because each door knob is different I suggest googling “removing doorknobs” and ... View the Post
A Video Game Themed Birthday Party
Sweet Guy recently turned 12. This was also around the same time that I was approaching school finals (accelerated courses), prepping the Fashionista’s condo for sale, finishing up a design job, as well as working on a few upcoming projects for this ole blog. It was time to hit the easy button. Three years ago Sweet Guy had spied some neighbors who celebrated their birthday by bringing in a video game truck. For the past few years he has asked if he could also have one. Up until this ... View the Post
Contain Yourself~ It’s my laundry room
A year after moving in I am finally getting around to adding a bit of happy to the laundry room. Our laundry room is more like a laundry closet. A closet with no windows and bad overhead lighting~ which makes it pretty difficult to get a good picture. One thing you should know is that I don’t like leaving the cleaning supplies in their original packaging. Pretty much all of our laundry soap, etc. gets set free from their cardboard and plastic prisons. Blah. Much better! ... View the Post
A Sweet Fall Tablescape
Today is my Sweet Guy’s 12th birthday. While he will be enjoying a traditional children’s party very soon I wanted to make sure that the table was decorated for a special meal. It will be just the four of us enjoying his favorite foods tonight. The centerpiece is a small wheelbarrow that Mr. Décor gave me while we were dating…16 years ago. I filled it with happy sunflowers, mums, red berries and roses as well as other bits of flora and fauna. It is surrounded by a bounty of dollar ... View the Post
Elegant Acorn Napkin Rings
I recently found myself frantically searching for my fall themed napkin rings. They were no where to be found. So I quickly got creative. I began with miniature grapevine wreaths I have had for awhile. (You can find these at most craft stores.) I had also been hanging onto some cedar acorns that once had been in several sweater drawers but had lost their scent long ago. I started priming and then remembered the “before” pictures. Oooops! Do you do that too? :) After the ... View the Post
A Smile From Rudi
For all of you who prayed for our dear Rudi I am happy to report that after a week of rest and steroids he seems to be more like his old self~ smiling, waving and wagging. Rudi often smiles for our family. Generally it accompanies a good belly rubbing. I have had only one other dog in my lifetime who smiled and that was my dear golden retriever, Peaches. Does your dog smile? Laura ... View the Post
