Elegant Acorn Napkin Rings

I recently found myself frantically searching for my fall themed napkin rings. They were no where to be found. So I quickly got creative.

fall projects 053-002

I began with miniature grapevine wreaths I have had for awhile. (You can find these at most craft stores.) I had also been hanging onto some cedar acorns that once had been in several sweater drawers but had lost their scent long ago.

I started priming and then remembered the β€œbefore” pictures. Oooops! Do you do that too? πŸ™‚

After the primer I spray painted all the pieces gold then hot glued the acorn onto the mini wreath.

I could have stopped here. But…

I decided that the acorn top needed a bit of texture and sparkle. So out came the glue and glitter.

Voila! Quick and easy elegant acorn napkin rings!

What projects are you working on?

I'm out on the deck using my tile nippers to cut old mugs, bowls and plates into 'tiles' to be used in an upcoming “Simple Mosaics” workshop I'm teaching! Of course, it's just a week away and I am behind because those silly paying jobs keep interfering.

Here in the Northeast, the weather has been so good this year that nut trees that have never fruited before are bearing; I've picked up some interesting nuts (pecans!) and pods that I stowed away for later and some styrofoam grape containers that the grocery store would have thrown away will be used as painting surfaces when I get my gold and silver paints out!

Those are so pretty, simple and stylish. Like something right off the cover of Victoria Magazine. Back when it was more stylish.

Your acorn napkin rings are so pretty and will go handsomely with your monochromatic white theme. I like the glitter tops. Everything is always better with glitter. It's a rule in my books! lol
(And the photo wasn't an 'I forgot'. it's just an excellent photo of showing the detailed steps and progress!) πŸ˜€
Thanks for sharing your sweet crafty project! πŸ™‚
