1890s Dressing Gown Wrapper Tea Gown

Hello sweet friends! Welcome to another historic edition of Fashion Friday. I recently created an 1890s Dressing Gown Wrapper Tea Gown. I am in the process of organizing and sewing for a historical fashion show that will celebrate the Suffragettes. The 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, was ratified on August 18, 1920. The fashion show, among other celebratory events,  is scheduled for November 24th at the Farmers Branch Historical ... View the Post

Budget Costuming Plucking The Turkey

Hello, sweet friends, my fingers have really been flying this week. Budget Costuming Plucking The Turkey Still on my "Must Make" list is an ... View the Post

Hello, my friends! I have been staying at home and working on some 18th Century Slow Stitching. My goal is to create an entire 18th-century outfit using historically accurate sewing techniques. This means everything is done by hand. 18th Century Slow Stitching As a visual person, I selected the artwork, Plucking The Turkey, to help guide the finished look I am seeking. The oil painting was first exhibited by Henry Walton in 1776. Walton was an Englishman who primarily painted portraits. He ... View the Post

A Fun 1940’s Apron

Hello dear friends! Welcome to another edition of Fashion Friday. Recently my sweet friend Sandy, of Quill Cottage Studio, cleaned and organized her creative space.
