The Beatles Were Right

These photos were taken by our friends and favorite photographers, Lee and Cindy Reeves back in December. The Beatles were right, love is all you need. The Beatles Were Right They were meant to be included in our Christmas cards sent to friends and family all over the globe. A few days after this photo session occurred our lives were forever changed. When we looked at the images weeks later it was as if we no longer recognized the people in these pictures. The pain continued to ... View the Post

Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy Day! Today is a very special day for me. It is Mr. Décor’s birthday. Oh, Happy Day! Some of you are well acquainted with Mr. Décor. You know that he is a man of honor. Visiting a grave of a friend at Arlington and telling his son about sacrifice. It’s no secret that he is the man behind the woman who writes this blog. He often comes up with post topics and is always ready to lend a hand with DIY projects particularly if they involve lumber and chainsaws. The native American ... View the Post

Holiday Rooooooad!

Who loved the 1980’s classic theatrical gem National Lampoon’s “Vacation”? Sweet Boy and I recently hit the Holiday Rooooooad! We were on a quest to go to see dear friends and visit Legoland during his fall break. The boy LOVES his lego’s and was beyond excited. Remember the scene when Clark finally ends his horribly disastrous drive across the country only to discover that Wally World was closed? It’s really not so funny when it happens in real life and you have a tearful 10-year-old ... View the Post

A Creative Pokemon Party First, you’ll need to select a theme. Perhaps it is your heart's desire to host a circus or princess tea party, but take into consideration the interests and likes of the individual for whom the party is being held.  Even IF it is a theme you aren’t that crazy about. Next, the date and time for the party ... View the Post

Thinking Outside the Lunchbox Mommy Duel on the Playground

For many it’s that time of year again. The annual “What do I pack my kid for lunch?”  blah’s. I used to have this same dilemma until I came across a few blogs that feature Bento lunchboxes. For those of you unfamiliar with the art of Bento, it is a single-portion meal originating in Japan. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, packed artistically in a box-shaped container. I will stop right here and let you know I DO NOT take it to ... View the Post

Silver for Sunday Supper

When I was a little girl it was my job was to set the table for dinner. It was always Silver for Sunday Supper. Except on Business ~ Lucien Davis, 1885 Silver for Sunday Supper My Grandmother Mary and Papa Jack had a set of silver plate that they used for their everyday utensils. It featured lovely swirls and curves and a small rose right below the “V” monogram. My tiny fingers would often trace out the design. To my eye it was the loveliest set of silver I had ever seen. After my ... View the Post
