I would have loved to have a bit of time to recoup from my tough semester, but I spent the past few days deep cleaning my home as my mom came to visit us over the weekend for the first time in 11 years! (We were living overseas for most of the time.) So, with a clean house and tons of leftover food, I now have a bit of free time to catch up on blogging. I thought you might enjoy Christmas cooking disasters and other thoughts. The Christmas season is just beginning for me, I am SO excited! I ... View the Post
5 geese a flying, 4 smiling faces, 1 lil doggie…
It's been awhile since our last family portrait. I am not even sure that this even qualifies as a portrait~ it is more of a snapshot. It was taken when Sweet Boy was two and we participated in our church's Walk Through Bethlehem. Our daughter, a fashion design student, made the costumes. 5 geese a flying, 4 smiling faces, 1 Lil doggie... 5 geese a flying, 4 smiling faces, 1 Lil doggie... As the last of eight kids, our 20 ft table practically groaned from the weight of the turkey and all the trimmings. "Freedom From Want" by Norman Rockwell I've even been to Plymouth Rock and of course heard the story of the first ... View the Post
Veteran’s Day
This is a favorite Veteran's Day image of mine. I never cease to grow teary when I view it. Veteran's Day I am deeply indebted to the many men and women who have taken leave of their families, jobs, and daily lives in order to ensure my freedom and the freedom of those living in other countries who are unable to fight for themselves. A few of my favorite veterans are: Mr. Decor's paternal grandfather, Landen, who was a Marine during the 1930's. Here's my paternal grandfather, ... View the Post
