Pretty In Pink Palentine Table

Hello sweet friends! I hope you are keeping cozy. Today’s post was such fun to create. I hope you enjoy a Pretty In Pink Palentine Table.

Dearest Dianne

One of my most precious pals is dear Dianne. We met online a few years ago through the Tasha Tudor Facebook group Take Peace. This past summer we finally met in person when I participated in a Little House 50th anniversary event in Conneticut which is Dianne’s home state.

This beautiful lady celebrated a special milestone birthday last week and yet it was she who sent me a most unexpected gift.

Dianne and Laura

As you may know my left index finger recently had a fairly bad run in with a rotary cutter. I was feeling a bit blue and my dear friend sent me the loveliest Get Well floral arrangement.

Tasha Tudor herself could not have selected a more beautiful bouquet!

The pretty vase contained all of my favorite flowers in the loveliest of colors.

It cheered me immensely and I decided to set a Valentine’s day tablescape to showcase the arrangement.

The lovely soft shades of the bouquet set the color palette.

Placecards

While placecards may seem old fashioned I absolutely love them! When someone is visiting for the first time there can be an awkward moment when gathering at the table. People pause wondering “Where do I sit?”

Placecards eleminate the awkwardness.

I also believe it makes a guest feel special in that you took the time to create a place just for them.

I took a queue from the blue delphiniums in the bouquet to search for placecards that featured some of the same hues.

Simply right click on the image below to save the placecard to your computer.

Then you can print them out in whatever size and amount you prefer. I selected “wallet sized”.

The names of my guests were handwritten with a fine tipped sharpie.

You can find the DIY tutorial for the wooden spool placecard holders HERE.

Over on the sideboard I created a neutral toned vignette so that the focus would remain primarily on the table.

Sideboard

Cupid, a pair of lovebirds and some pretty DIY pearl hearts create a fun grouping.

I’ll see you on Friday friends!

It’s beautiful, Laura, and I know your guests felt especially pampered with all the lovely touches. The flowers are great! That’s one tall bouquet! Could you see over it? But so gorgeous with the wonderful colors — that seem to exactly match your china. The place cards are a perfect addition. Absolutely splendid, Laura!

      Hi Jeanie!
During meals the centerpiece was moved over to the sideboard so I could see my friend’s faces!

So sorry to hear about your finger, Laura. That sounds very painful. Your luncheon table is so beautiful and welcoming. That cupid on the sideboard is just perfect for Palentines! Hope you heal soon. ~ carol
