Hello sweet friends! Today I am joining some lovely friends in creating a Lifestyle of Love. It is hosted by dear Cindy of County Road 407. This bi-monthly hop is a favorite for those who adore vintage, antique, and repurposed treasures. Our theme for today is Wagons and Wheelbarrows. I am sharing A Thanksgiving Tablescape With Vintage Favorites.
Wagons and Wheelbarrows
If you arrived from Common Ground I’d like to say Welcome to Storybook Cottage. Debra’s holiday decor is always so inspiring.
I was so excited for the theme of Wagons and Wheelbarrows. I have two vintage gems that many of you will recognize from previous posts.
You often see my most prized wagon at Christmastime. It was found at a flea market in Germany over 20 years ago.
It’s perfect for elevating a tiny tree to display in A Christmas Cottage Kitchen.
I have a few wheelbarrows that are used in garden decor but I wanted to share a more seasonally appropriate treasure. Back when were dating Mr. Decor was in the Air Force. He routinely flew to various missions in the middle east.
I was working in a doctors office and the most beautiful autumn themed bouquet arrived in a charming wheelbarrow. Despite moving 10 times that wheelbarrow always made the “must move” cut.
It was last shared in Fall At Storybook Cottage.
A Thanksgiving Tablescape With Vintage Favorites
Recently Mr. Decor flew to Sarasota to help his almost 90 year old father. Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton did quite a bit of damage to Pop Gunn’s shed, car port and roof. My husband got so much done in the 5 days he was there by working 16+ hour days. I knew he would be exhausted upon his return home. So I planned one of his favorite meals and set the table using the wheelbarrow as the centerpiece.
When Mr. Decor walked in he took one look at the table, inhaled the delicious dinner scents, and proclaimed “It is GOOD to be home!”
Other vintage favorites on the table include my mom Nadine’s Mikasa stoneware and amber goblets.
One simple grocery store bouquet was all that was needed to fill the wheelbarrow.
The blooms are nestled in small glass yogurt jars. Repurpose! Reuse! Recycle!
I love how the amber glass sparkles in the late afternoon sunshine.
The vintage linen tablecloth was a thrift store find from several years ago.
I hope you have enjoyed this vintage collection. This is my last Thanksgiving themed post for the year. With Christmas a little over a month away I am ready to begin sharing holiday themed crafts, recipes decor and more!
In writing this post it made me think of the countless Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that my dear husband missed during his service to our country. Let’s give a round of applause for all of our service members who are far from home this holiday season.
See you on Friday!
Laura

The wheelbarrow makes a wonderful, low and pretty centerpiece vessel. I am loving the muted colors here with the pops of color from the flowers. Very November! Well done, Mr. Decor! I know that had to be a huge help.

What a sweet gesture with the flowers in the wheelbarrow all those years ago. It’s the perfect size for your lovely bouquet on the table. Your husband was so wonderful to take the time to help his Dad. And how fun to have that little wagon from Germany!

I always love your stories and your little wagon has the best story! What a treasure forever. And I’ve always wanted a wagon to hold a tree. So the one behind the table is fantastic too. pinned
