Fall At Storybook Cottage

Welcome to Fall At Storybook Cottage. The idea for this wonderful tour is courtesy of my dear friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. This year’s tours are being hosted by the fabulous Linda of It All Started With Paint. If you are visiting from Southern State of Mind let me say, “Welcome to Storybook Cottage!” Wasn’t Heather’s fall home fabulous?

Fall At Storybook Cottage

Fall At Storybook Cottage

I am a bit slow to decorate for fall. Temperatures are still in the 90’s here in Texas. However, a few overcast days have had me pulling out the pumpkins and planting some mums.

A Happy Hedgehog

I recently made a rare trip to Michaels and became instantly smitten with a happy hedgehog.

I’m generally not an impulse shopper but she had to come home with me and grace the front entry.

The Dining Area

This year the formal dining area is a bit rustic.

Fall table

Linen runners have been paired with mini oak stumps gathered from our yard.

The soft shades of green and blue seem fitting for warmer fall days.

Living Area

Similar hues can be found in the living area.

A neutral arrangement graces the coffee table.

The mantel features more oak stumps and colorful pumpkins.

An eclectic grouping of gourds.

This deep teal velvet pumpkin might be my favorite.

The Sunroom

With Sweet Guy happily ensconced at college the sunroom has been transformed into a cozy antique schoolroom.

It is the setting of the new weekly series Lessons With Laura.

The schoolroom

The series includes creative crafts, delicious recipes, historical fashion, and much more.

A Cozy Kitchen

This fall touches of gold, brown, and turquoise have also been added to the kitchen.

The copper pots have been polished and await the making of yummy soups and stews.

Cottage kitchen

The glass-fronted cabinet holds a small collection of cottage themed china. Perfect for a cup of warm cinnamon spice tea.

I’ll be back on Wednesday with the next installment of Lessons With Laura. This week we’ll be featuring Little House in the Big Woods. Come find out how Ma’s Vinegar pie is made.

Happy Fall Y’all!

Up next on the tour is Clean and Scentsible. You will love Jenn’s autumnal touches.
