Welcome to a Storybook Cottage Summer 2022. This fabulous annual event is hosted by my dear friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. If you are visiting from Whispering Pines Homestead let me say, “Welcome to Storybook Cottage!” Wasn’t Anita’s summer home fabulous?
Storybook Cottage Summer 2022
Here in Texas we have some pretty hot days. I love using various shades of blue to visually cool things down.
We found the driftwood from a recent trip to Galveston. The homes there are so amazing. I’ll be sharing that tour next week!
The net table runner was recently used for a Renaissance Faire costume. Don’t you love when things are multi purpose?
Casually elegant tables are perfect for the summer.
A nautically nice vignette.
Do you collect sea shells?
Living Room
During the kitchen renovation we applied German Schmear to both sides of our fireplace and hearth. It really brightens up the room!
I bought the art years ago at Pier 1. I sure miss their brick and mortar stores.
An assorted sea farers delight.
New Kitchen
Although we are still waiting on a vent hood we consider our almost year long kitchen renovation to now be complete. The reveal was shared earlier in the spring.
I swapped out the soft pink curtain for a roll up shade of blue and white ticking.
The shelf features assorted decor with a nod to summer.
I love how the striped umbrella of the artwork ties into the ticking fabric.
The hearth is decorated for the warmer months with crisp blue and white accessories.
We absolutely love our new appliances.

Yay for your new kitchen, Laura! Doesn’t it making cooking so much more fun? The German schmear looks great on the bricks, and I feel your pain on missing Pier 1. I bought a dining table from them right as they were going out of business and I love it.
Stay cool this summer!
