Hello sweet friends! So many of you asked if we would be making another dance video this year. I couldn’t say, “No” so let’s begin Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree.
This Year’s Outfits
I absolutely adore this year’s retro-inspired fashions. The starting point was this darling fabric graciously given to me.
The Patterns
For the dress, I used view 2 of Simplicity 3528. The pattern was purchased from my friend Tanya. She has a fabulous Etsy shop. I think this dress requires an intermediate level of skill. Although with assistance a beginner could sew it too. The instructions were very good and the pieces went together well. I will probably make view 1 sometime in the future.
For Mr. Decor’s shirt, I used McCall’s 5781. I had purchased the pattern at an estate sale for 25 cents and therefore will have no regrets setting it on fire. The instructions provided were very confusing and the illustrations did nothing to help me understand. Runaway screaming very fast from this one.
The fabric is so cheerful and fun. I used vintage rick rack trim as it is 100% cotton and works so much better than today’s polyester offerings. It was sewn on with a zig zag stitch.
The dress is easy to wear and dance in!
Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree
To view the video just click on the image below or here: YOUTUBE CHANNEL. Another page will open. The dancing begins at the 4:40 mark. I guarantee it is sure to bring a smile to your face.
I adore that my kids are not only willing to put up with my hair-brained shenanigans but seem to truly enjoy it.
The Fashionista is wearing a vintage-inspired eyelet dress that I plan on making again in the near future and will review it.
Special thanks to the darling Scoma sisters for their fabulous dance moves. Megan made her cute twirly white skirt.
All of us wish you health, love, and happiness.
Decor To Adore will return next week after a small break.

I’m headed over to look at the video right now but I know it will be adorable! I want to be in your family — may I? You have such fun. I can’t even beging to imagine how it would go if I tried to pull this off with my team. I suspect only the toddlers would want to participate because it would mean bouncing around! That fabric is extra cute and your family is so beautiful.
Merry Christmas, my friend. one of my joys this year was being able to connect with you while we were in Texas. Big Merries to you all!
