Hello sweet friends! Last Wednesday was Mr. Decor’s birthday. As we are opting to stay at home I made him a special meal. It was A Tasha Tudor Inspired Holiday Menu.
A Tasha Tudor Inspired Holiday Menu
The famed illustrator and author, Tasha Tudor, was almost as equally famous for her kitchen at Corgi Cottage.
It was depicted in many of her lovely paintings.
She had a hand pump at her sink.
As well as an antique stove.
The Tasha Tudor Cookbook and The Tasha Tudor Family Cookbook hold many culinary delights.
She also often cooked over an open hearth.
Her tin kitchen had been used by her family for decades. It roasted meats beautifully.
Her corgi’s often tried to sneak a taste.
Tasha grew many of her own fruits and vegetables.
She savored the slow delights of each season.
She canned for the winter.
Making delicious jellies, jams, and cider.
Every year her Christmas tree was decorated with gingerbread ornaments.
She often delighted in shocking her dinner guests by attempting to serve up her grey parrot, Captain Pegler.
The Menu
Many of Tasha’s recipes can be found on Google and Pinterest. The recipes that I used have been highlighted and linked within this post. They can also be found on my Tasha Tudor Pinterest Page.
- Turkey
- Mashed potatoes
- Dressing
- Green beans
- Clover Rolls
- Cranberry jelly
- Apple cider
- Pumpkin pie
As I don’t have a tin kitchen the turkey was cooked in the crockpot.
The clover rolls were delicious!
The cream cheese mashed potato recipe is on the Tasha Tudor Pinterest Board.
The green beans were prepared according to the French’s Onion recipe.
Here is Tasha’s cranberry jelly.
The dressing recipe is my own. Do you know the difference between stuffing and dressing? If the bread mixture is cooked in the turkey it is stuffing. If it is cooked in a separate container is dressing.
I slightly overcooked the pumpkin pie but it was still delicious with a bit of homemade whipped cream.
Some recipe preparation will be shared in Wednesday’s video.

Laura, I could easily eat this favorite meal twice a month, year-round. I am already thinking of when I can
make the green bean casserole again! Enjoyed all the photos. That was hilarious about Tasha serving up Capt. Pegler!
