Taking Time To Play

It has been wonderful to step off the hamster wheel of my life and just breathe. After months of simultaneously going to school and running a home and business, I have had a few days of Taking Time To Play. Taking Time To Play My dear grandmother, who is in the midst of downsizing, regularly sends packages of the most interesting things such as vintage charms and old jewelry. I have just been tucking these things away in my closet. As the apple did not fall far from the tree, I also ... View the Post

Sweet Baby Nurseries

Before the first Mother's Day is celebrated, a nursery is planned. Let's look at Sweet Baby Nurseries. I myself spent hours pouring over fabrics, cribs, and accessories before settling on a Daisy Kingdom bunny and floral pattern for my daughter and a primary colored sailboat theme for my son. This is Jennifer Lopez's nursery that was done by Petit Tresor in Los Angeles. It is so very beautiful and elegant. Of course, the mom in me hopes that she'll be childproofing this gorgeous space ... The Next Jackson Pollock

Hello friends! As you may know, many schools have had to discontinue art due to budget cuts. This saddens me deeply. As a girl, art period was always my favorite time of the day. I have no doubt that it contributed immensely to my chosen profession of interior design. In Arizona, they have a program called Art Masterpiece which provides parents the opportunity to present art to their children's class. I didn't hesitate to volunteer. The biggest challenge for me is coming up with projects ... View the Post

Rose Bowl Treasures

Sunday was a wonderful day at the Rose Bowl flea market. We arrived a little after 8 am and it was already hot, hot, hot! Perhaps you would like to see the Rose Bowl Treasures. My friend T was laughing about my cart, but in a short matter of time, she was helping me fill it up. I was excited to find a terrific barkcloth liner for the cart. I have been thinking about sewing one up for ages, but have not had the time. Rose Bowl Treasures The vendors had an assortment of things to ... View the Post

Before and After Pictures

I have always loved looking at Before and After Pictures. I imagine this is because it provides inspiration and ideas of what can be done. The photos below are from a project I have been working on for over a year. As with any renovation, there has been surprises and challenges. Before and After Pictures 1. Kitchen~In the before picture of the kitchen, you will notice that the design called for an entire bank of cabinets to be removed. This really opened up space. Other cabinets were added ...
