The Ultimate DIY may you be inspired

How was your weekend? Me? Oh, I completed a 23-year long project. No, make that I realized a 23+-year-old dream. The Ultimate DIY may you be inspired. The Ultimate DIY may you be inspired We have to begin this journey over 50 years ago when my father was in grade school. My father grew up in a time when dyslexia had a different name. Horrible names like “stupid”, “idiot” and “lazy”. My father was a brilliantly gifted artist and athlete. But when he was 16 he couldn’t take the name ... View the Post

Inspiration from Rose Tarlow

I adore Rose Tarlow. It’s hard not to admire someone who can instantly take you to a happy place through their beautiful designs. Inspiration from Rose Tarlow. Inspiration from Rose Tarlow I am not the first to profess such adoration. Many others have come before me. Bloggers such as Brooke from Velvet and Linen and Joni, from Cote de Texas, who has several posts in which she poetically weaves words of admiration in a way in which only she can. But I am perhaps the first to devote an ... View the Post

A Captive Audience Creates a Delighted Mother

On Mother’s Day, I didn’t ask for flowers. A Captive Audience Creates a Delighted Mother. A Captive Audience Creates a Delighted Mother I didn’t request breakfast in bed. No, I wanted something more. I wanted willing assistants who wouldn’t complain while helping me clean out their closets, try on some clothes that were perhaps too small, and maybe even get rid of a few things. It is a brilliant, EVIL ploy because they know they have to have smiling faces on Mother’s Day. I even ... View the Post

A wee little tea set

My sweet Grandma Jingles (as affectionately called by my children) recently sent me a package. She had decided to move again into an assisted living facility and had to downsize a bit. She thought that I would probably adore and treasure a wee little tea set she played with as a girl. A wee little tea set Treasure indeed. These wee cups are over 80 years old. I adore the sweet bluebird that adorns the dishes. I am overjoyed that the dishes were well loved and have a few chips and ... View the Post

Mother’s Day

Today is Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day If Roses grow in Heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me, Place them in my Mothers arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her that I Love Her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there is an ache within my heart that will never go away. ~Author Unknown. I dialed my mothers number the other day. I wanted to share with her something hilarious Sweet ... View the Post

Putting Pen to Paper

Putting Pen to Paper I have said before that I don’t watch much HGTV. (Gasp!) But I adore Candice Olson. She is one designer that I wouldn’t hesitate to hire. Soft sighs of “ahh” emit when I view her visual eye candy. Putting Pen to Paper She is an elegant mixture of contemporary, traditional, and dazzling. Even the most difficult spaces become lovely rooms when given her magical touch. I adore many things about Ms. Olson. But I am most enthralled on how a room such as ... View the Post
