The Converted Barn

No living room chairs. I’ve been promised that they will be finished this week but I am not holding my breath. Still, it would be nice since we have houseguests arriving on Friday. Instead, I bring you The Converted Barn that cousin Sweet T. sent me via realtor.com. In the subject line, she had typed “Freak Out”. Indeed. The Converted Barn There aren’t many homes that I think “I could move in just as is but this one….well, just see for yourself. ORC The Reveal of the Living, Dining and Entry Way

It has truly been a busy and amazing six short weeks. To tackle not one, not two, but THREE areas in such a short time borders on cuckoo. Creating Covered Buttons and Other Delights with Vintage Fabric Scraps Last week as I rearranged my office/sewing area I found myself looking at some wee bits of leftover fabric from the aprons I had recently made. I just couldn’t bear to toss the cheerful scraps into the bin. They are quite easy to make. I myself ... View the Post

Eleanor’s Aprons

So many of the things I adore such as antique lace and vintage textiles I learned to love from my Grandma Jingles. This has resulted in a very special and heartfelt project, Eleanor's Aprons. Every time my grandmother and I were together we would hit the thrift stores and she would scour the newspaper for estate sales so we could go in search of hidden treasure. Neither of us needed a thing, but it sure was fun. If you add in the extensive collecting she had also done the 50 years prior well, ... View the Post
