The Ringling Mansion – Ca’ d’Zan

Last week our family took a quick trip to Sarasota, Florida to celebrate my father in law, Landen’s, 80th birthday. While I have been to Sarasota on many occasions we generally spend the time with family and rarely venture out. This time our departure flight was scheduled for late Monday afternoon. Most of the family had left on Sunday which left Monday morning free to explore. My destination was ~ Ca' d'Zan. I had heard many wonderful stories about the Ringling Mansion, Ca' d'Zan, built by ... Happy 80th Birthday Pop Gunn–You HAVE to see his AWESOME gift!

Oh I just love a good birthday. Eighty years is surely something to celebrate. My father in law, Landen, is just amazing. I think you now know where Mr. Décor inherited his DIY skills from. Pop is always working on some project or another. Mr. Décor, shown here in the middle, often talks about the houseboat that Pop Gunn created when he was a kid. It was called the Gunn Do La (Inspired by gondola… Do for Dorothy and La for Landen.) It was quite a boat. A true labor of love. ... View the Post

Plans For the Storybook Cottage Living Room

Hello dear friends! Did you enjoy the holiday season? A Warm and Easy Gift for Friends and Neighbors

Time truly got away from me this year my friends. I knew many of our neighbors would soon be leaving for the holidays, we had house guests arriving and I just could not spend 2-3 days in the kitchen this year baking. So here is A Warm and Easy Gift for Friends and Neighbors. A Warm and Easy Gift for Friends and Neighbors This fairly quick craft saved me. Back in early November, I had pinned this darling present topper from Homespun With Heart. Completely adorable. Also completely ... View the Post

Something More Sundays Week 4

Christmas is almost upon us. Something More Sundays Week 4 Many of us are just done in with the stress and chaos that we now so often associated with Christmas. It can be so overwhelming that the exhausted would happily push right past this holiday. This one day of Santa, retail abundance and resulting meltdowns. Something More Sundays Week 4 But truly this is not Christmas. Not the REAL Christmas. Because Christmas is not just one day. Technically it’s 12. It starts on the 25th and ends ... View the Post
