Oh, my friends, I have just one week left to pull off the almost impossible~ finish the bad gas station bathroom in time for the One Room Challenge reveal. ORC Week 5 Gulp and a Pfister Faucet. Thankfully last week I passed my college semester finals with flying colors and can now dedicate all of my time to this space. ORC Week 5 Gulp and a Pfister Faucet This past week the wall was patched and painted where the old and overly large mirror was once glued under the wine rack. With such a ... View the Post
The Homes of Laura Ingalls Wilder
Hello dear friends! Recently a picture has been circulating of the author Laura Ingalls Wilder which many of you have sent to me. It truly is a charming photograph. I decided to write a post with all of the homes of Laura Ingalls Wilder listed. The photo below is indeed Laura. She is standing on the porch of the Mansfield home that was first rented, then purchased, by Almanzo’s parents. They lived here while saving money to build what would become Rocky Ridge Farm. The house still stands ... View the Post
ORC Week 4 The Mr. Does Demo
I know, we should have been doing the demo in week 2, but here we are. ORC Week 4 The Mr. Does Demo. ORC Week 4 The Mr. Does Demo This is where I shamefully tell you that I did very little work on the bathroom this week. The bulk of the work was shouldered by Mr. Decor. For the millionth time, I will once again say how grateful I am for a handy husband. He removed the old, spray painted faucet… …and discovered previous workmanship that literally “cut corners”. A standard 36” sink had ... View the Post
I Want All Of It Nantclwyd Hall
My friends, I still have one more glorious Round Top post but this is SO good I had to share. As a rule, I try to keep my coveting to a minimum. But recently I saw a house in Vogue. I Want All Of It Nantclwyd Hall. I Want All Of It Nantclwyd Hall The Welsh language can be rather tricky but I want to move into Nantclwyd Hall in Llanelidan Wales. Nantclwyd means “the brook over the river Clwyd”. The two-story brick home, built in 1622, features a slate roof and a gorgeous garden. The ... View the Post
My Neighbor’s Gorgeous Garden
Right up the street from Storybook Cottage is a gorgeous garden. It is My Neighbor’s Gorgeous Garden. My Neighbor’s Gorgeous Garden I walk past this enchanting space a few times a week while walking the dogs. This past Friday, on Earth Day no less, I made my way up the front walk. I rang the doorbell, introduced myself and asked my green-thumbed neighbors if I could take a few pictures and if they could offer me a few great gardening tips. S.R., the resident gardener, was happy ... View the Post
The Last Pick
I have first-hand knowledge of being picked last in gym class. I was as uncoordinated as plaid and stripes. Because of that, I can tell you that those red rubber balls really pack a punch. Even worse, there were plenty of times I wasn’t even picked at all. The Homecoming hoedown, the Christmas formal… I could go on and on and tell you that on most occasions there are NO perks of being a wallflower. I was always The Last Pick. The Last Pick This Laura Ingalls not only sported buckteeth but ... View the Post
