Hanging artwork with great precision can turn even the most perfect mannered miss into a swearing sailor. Here are a few of my favorite devices found in the toolbox that I ALWAYS carry with me to design jobs. (And no, no one is paying me for this post. This is my unpaid opinion.) If you have a piece of artwork that comes with a wire attached on the back let me introduce you to the Picture Placer. You slide the plastic guide down to cover the frame. On the back you lift the wire into ... View the Post
Back To Cool
Last week I went back to school shopping with Sweet Boy. As we embarked on our quest I asked him if there were any specific items that he was looking for. It was time for Back To Cool. Back To Cool His reply: “A white shirt, pants I can roll up and definitely a vest and suspenders.” Luckily, I had just swallowed my big gulp of Pepsi. I tried playing it cool and said “That’s an interesting combination. What is your inspiration?” “Mom, you know how sissy (aka The Fashionista) loves One ... View the Post

While the palette looks fantastic in kitchens, I’m a bit unsure. Although cool colors suppress your appetite, which I ... View the Post
Spice Girl Part II
I just finished organizing my crafting supplies. It all started when I found this old spice rack at the thrift store for $5. Just two days later I found a second one for even less. One glass bottle alone can sell between $2~$3 on ebay so it was a fantastic deal. The first thing I did was clean all the jars and reorganize my own spice cabinet. You can read Spice Girl Part I HERE. Then the old spice racks sat and sat and sat in my stash. There is nothing like moving and having to ... View the Post
Step On It~ A Round Ottoman Slipcover
My fur boy Rudi loves to climb up on the couch. As he is a dachshund his long back needs all the extra help it can get. I’ve had this ottoman since the Tuscan look was in. The size is really perfect and the material is still in great shape, it was just…um…ugly. I went digging through my fabric stash and found a yummy old tablecloth that sadly was no longer acceptable for dining but would be a perfect fabric for a slipcover. I followed the directions that my friend Jill provided on her ... View the Post
