It has truly been a busy and amazing six short weeks. To tackle not one, not two but THREE areas in such a short time borders on cuckoo. Add in three accelerated university classes taken at the same time and well, it’s official… I am completely crazy! First the good news: I earned straight A’s. Now the not so good news: As you may have heard the weather here in Texas has been extremely wet and windy. This meant that getting the chairs painted was slow going so this led to a delay in ... ORC Week 5–Creating Original Artwork and Other Painting Projects
Oh I can hardly believe this is the last day of April. This month has just flown by. This past week was all about painting projects. The freshly painted mantle was hung and I began to try out various groupings of accessories. I also found some pillows for the couch that were almost the perfect color palette…. I just added a bit of watered down “Florence” chalk paint to a few of the flowers and the entire room is now tied together. Sweet Guy was recently assigned a final art project ... View the Post
Bit of Bliss~ Blue and White
Oh my heart! My heart is so full! I am still feeling tremendously blessed from the swift apron sellout that occurred Monday. I have been sneaking in bits of sewing for another collection to be released soon. I am also planning a few one of kind bridal editions for June. #swoony Is anyone else excited about the new film “Far From The Madding Crowd” to be released May 1st? I can’t wait! You can see the trailer HERE. The star of the film, Carey Mulligan, is also on the cover of Vogue this month. ... View the Post
One Room Challenge…It’s Week WHAT???!!!
It’s week 4 dear friends and this time the ORC is kicking my behind! It doesn’t matter that our exterior drainage problem has finally been resolved and I can begin cleaning the mud out of my carpets. It makes no difference that I conquered a major ant infestation. No one is really interested in the two lengthy compare/contrast art history papers I wrote, the 9 lectures I attended, or the test I aced. There were also the 6 aprons that were sewn and shipped out earlier this week. But none ... View the Post
Installing French Drains and Other Things
While April showers do bring May Flowers…. We have also found out why there was so much water damage to the back of the house causing Mr. Décor to replace all of the back siding last January. Both the Mr. and I have been toiling in the backyard this past week. We have been logging hours upon hours of backbreaking labor to try and create what resembles a landscaped yard/garden. It was only when it rained buckets that we discovered …“Fort Worth, we have a problem.” So, there are two ... View the Post
10 Minutes A Day
Yesterday Mr. Décor and I celebrated 17 years of wedded bliss! On Friday evening he took me to a lovely B & B. As we were at dinner we talked about that while on one hand it feels like we have been together “forever” there are other times we can’t believe how quickly time has passed. Now it’s no secret that I was 28 year old divorcée with a 7 year old daughter when I met a certain 33 year old bachelor. I was cautious because I had already traveled down a devastating and heartbroken path. ... View the Post
