Creating a Cute Apron with Leftover Fabric

I regularly wear aprons to protect my clothes while cooking and baking. Creating a Cute Apron with Leftover Fabric. Creating a Cute Apron with Leftover Fabric After the two wing chairs that were found at the side of the road were slipcovered in antique ticking I found that I still had tons of fabric left. There were a few areas on the fabric that no matter how hard I tried to remove the rust spots, they never completely faded away. I thought about how I could use these pieces of fabric. ... Sundressed & Given The Slip Tutorial

It’s 113 degrees today. But it’s a DRY heat. Yeah, so much so that my skin could be mistaken for a lizard's. In the summer I live in sundresses. It’s always the same formula. My uniform consists of a cotton dress, cute sandals and fun baubles varied only by color. I am old school. I like coverage. If my summer dresses are sleeveless they always have wide straps so that my dedicates don’t show. Sundressed & Given The Slip Tutorial. I also like to wear a slip underneath my dresses and ... Carrie Leaves the Penthouse SATC 2

A little over two years ago I wrote a post entitled “Carrie Bradshaw Gets A New Apartment”. That post continues to receive a few hits a week. I felt it was my sacred design duty to write about the decor in the sequel. So I viewed  Sex In The City 2 immediately upon its release. The opening scene finds our heroine leaving the apartment she shares with Mr. Big. I of course desperately love the Halston Heritage dress. The Chanel clutch isn’t too bad either. Here is Carrie Leaves the Penthouse SATC ... View the Post

He Wore a Blue Raspberry Beret

DTA Productions presents a classic piece of French film noir, He Wore a Blue Raspberry Beret. He Wore a Blue Raspberry Beret Our hero, forced to the streets at a young age, always relied on the kindness of strangers. His good looks and charm provided him with many glorious encounters. Ooh, la la it was so sweet. But would he ever find lasting amour? He grew weary of waiting… His heart was becoming as empty as his plate. Until the day he spied her across the cafe…his ... Don’t grab the hot end!

Last Friday the weather was glorious here in Phoenix. (For those of you shoveling snow just remember for five months out of the year it is hot enough to singe your eyeballs.) I had reserved a spot in Terri Brush’s beginning soldering class. It was held in a lovely home in Phoenix that even had a pond full of koi. Don’t grab the hot end! Don’t grab the hot end! Roses and vincas were all abloom. The event was hosted by Melrose Vintage and they had set up a few of their delightful wares ... View the Post

Apron Strings

I grew up watching television reruns that featured dedicated homemakers such as June Cleaver. They were such wonderful mothers. Who wouldn't want to be tied up in their Apron Strings?  Apron Strings I often laughed myself silly viewing the antics of hopeful starlet turned housewife, Lucy Ricardo. It somehow always seemed wrong to me if Alice wore anything other than her standard uniform. Commercials often showed images of women in the kitchen.  Magazines of the day ... View the Post
