Hello sweet friends! How has another week come and gone? Being on the road for five weeks has made this summer truly fly by. Since my return home last week I have said every day that I will write another post besides Saturday Smiles. But I am still working 16 hour days and find little time to do so. The good news is that many of those hours have been spent on projects I hope to feature very soon. Until then, enjoy Saturday Smiles A Stitch In Time. I returned home to a mountain of ... Saturday Smiles Let’s Dress Up
Greetings from Costume College! I arrived in L.A. on Thursday and it has been a true whirlwind. My mind is flooded with goodness which has spilled over into Saturday Smiles Let's Dress Up. Saturday Smiles Let's Dress Up You have GOT to see the Dazzling Color Photos of the Legendary Romanov Costume Ball of 1903. The ball was held in February 1903, at the winter palace in St. Petersburg. A Fun Summer Frock
It has been HOT and HUMID here in Texas! I love to simply slide on a cool cotton dress if I have to run an errand. How To Find Historic Costuming Friends

No one close shared my interests and there was nowhere to actually wear the garments. That changed when I moved to Texas and ... View the Post
A Springtime Fantasy Costume Picnic
Last Saturday the D/FW Costumers Guild held A Springtime Fantasy Costume Picnic. Suggested attire included anything fantasy or Sci-Fi. As always some extraordinary costumes were created. I thought you might enjoy seeing a few truly imaginative garments. Artwork: The Anticipated Letter by Harry George Theaker Thank you so very much for all your kind comments on yesterday post. It appears you enjoyed the Peacock Themed Regency Dress and Open Robe that I wore to the picnic. I can't wait for ... View the Post
A Peacock Themed Regency Dress and Open Robe
This past weekend I attended the D/FW Costumers Guild Fantasy Picnic. This is a fun theme as the costume can be anything fancied in the creator's imagination. Cosplay, Fairies, Elves, and more were all welcome. I wanted to create an outfit that could also be worn in the future to other historical events and designed A Peacock Themed Regency Dress and Open Robe. Inspiration Many people automatically think that during the Regency period women only wore "sheer white dresses". That is ... View the Post
