Sweetheart Advent Elves Week 2

The sweetheart elves are still going strong at Décor To Adore manor. Here are their adventures, Sweetheart Advent Elves Week 2. Sweetheart Advent Elves Week 2 On Saturday (Dec. 8th) Romeo provided Mr. Décor and Sweet Boy with movie passes and $2.00 so that they could fill their $1.00 movie cups. Funny how that elf knew that this would really be a gift for me as I got so much done in an empty house. :) On Sunday (Mr. Décor’s birthday!) that sneaky elf waited until I got up in the ... Unwrap Hope: Winter Wonder Cloches

This is both a tutorial and a fundraiser for Hope Unlimited. Unwrap Hope: Winter Wonder Cloches. Unwrap Hope: Winter Wonder Cloches A few years ago I saw an ornament within the pages of Family Fun magazine. It was made out of a plastic drinking cup. How To Make  Winter Wonder Cloches It’s par for the course that it generally takes me a year or more before I get around to making what inspires me. LOL. Sparkle and Shine Wreath

It seems that every holiday season I create a new wreath. But I think that this may be my favorite yet! Here is the Sparkle and Shine Wreath. It’s been a long time coming. I can remember the exact moment I spied a vintage ornament wreath. It was way back in 2001 ~ nestled within the pages of Country Living’s December issue. Its creator was Jennifer Paginelli of Sis Boom fame. I was completely and utterly captivated. Sparkle and Shine Wreath Better late than never! Eleven years later I ... View the Post

Creating a Vintage Inspired Tree Topper

It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes reality exceeds expectation. It can Such was the case when Creating a Vintage Inspired Tree Topper. In creating a tree for my husband, inspired by his childhood, there was just one thing I was missing: a tree topper. I had something like this in mind. But after 5 thrift stores, I had given up hope. At the last thrift store, I spied this disaster. The aluminum star reminded me of the vintage-inspired corsages I had made in years past. So ... View the Post

Visions of Sugarplums Tablescape

Mr. Decor will celebrate his birthday on December the 9th. From early on in our marriage I always tried to create a special table in his honor that also blended in with the Christmas decor. I present my Visions of Sugarplums Tablescape.  Visions of Sugarplums Tablescape Mr. Decor loves sweets and he is, of course, my sweetheart so this year I set out to create a table that captured those wonderful qualities. Since I had a $20 budget I set out to one of the discount dollar stores for ... View the Post

Christmas Treasure Boxes

The kitchen floor (and most of me :)  is currently covered in glitter. It's all because of these Christmas Treasure Boxes. Christmas Treasure Boxes This year I had several small gifts (jewelry, soap, candy…) to give and I wanted to present them in a special way. Make Your Own The small paper-mâché boxes were found for 99 cents each at the craft store. I tried two methods of paint and I actually preferred using acrylic craft paint over spray paint. Using scrapbook paper I punched ... View the Post
