A lamp and a chair

Today rounds up a week-long series on decorating a room fit for a wee world traveler. In the last post, I showed you how I made a customized typography basket and sewed a simple Sumo banner. (Say that fast 5 times. :) This post will cover how I customized a lamp for Sweet Boys room as well as an idea for a cost-saving slipcover. A lamp and a chair. A lamp and a chair I have had this lovely little slipper chair for years. It originally belonged to my great-grandmother. Over the years it ... View the Post

Make your own typography basket

In last Monday's post I revealed the completion of Sweet Boy's room. One element of the room that visitors have commented on is the sweet little basket that you see on the floor to the right of the dresser. Typography is so popular right now. Both Pottery Barn and Ballard have several items in their catalogs. But as you may know, I always like to put my own twist on great ideas. Make your own typography basket Last April I attended a really great garage sale and found this sweet basket for ... View the Post

Where Gypsies Shop

My friend Mary lives very close to Venice in California. She took us shopping on Abbot Kinney Blvd. which was definitely my kind of place~adorable shops and restaurants tucked into darling old homes. I like her thinking! Pure bliss. Ooh, the chandelier! I love what she did with the ... View the Post

The Cutest Craft Studio Ever

Last Monday's post featured my friend Mary's adorable cottage bungalow. Today I am sharing her truly inspiring creative space. It is right outside the french doors of her master bedroom. The Cutest Craft Studio Ever On the way, I passed by this pretty table. Sweet happy sighs. I never thought I'd say this, but there was almost too much beautiful eye candy. Almost. :) Vintage wallpaper and great new wrapping paper. Dream? Absolutely. It's so much goodness. Let's stop ... View the Post

A Makeover Metamorphosis for a Song

Last October a sweet bloggy friend of mine, Brooke, of Velvet and Linen fame, sent an invitation to attend the grand opening of her beautiful store, Giannetti Home. While at the event I noticed an entire wall of books had been covered in simple parchment paper. Hand-lettered titles were added to a few of the spines. This simple book cover treatment spoke to me and I put this idea into my "style file" ~otherwise known as my brain. A Makeover Metamorphosis for a Song. It is now June and I am ... View the Post

Blissful Treasures

The hardest thing about Bohemian Bliss was selecting just a few treasures to take home. There were so many wonderful things! Here are my Blissful Treasures. My mindset right now is furnishing the Fashionista's new apartment. I picked up this sweet plate and great napkins I thought she would love. However, I am keeping the stamp and vintage floral frogs.  Blissful Treasures I can never leave a vintage ballerina behind. They are currently showing up in the "Happy Birthday" corsages I ...
