Hello sweet friends! It’s time for the bi-monthly Lifestyle of Love Hop hosted by Cindy of County Road 407. If you are coming over from Common Ground let me say that I am so glad that you are here. Debra creates truly gorgeous Easter decor with amazing vintage flair. Today I am sharing A Love Of Vintage Linens.
A Love Of Vintage Linens
This month’s theme of using vintage linens in the home is something truly dear to my heart. I find most of my linens at estate sales. They are much less expensive, prettier, and are far better quality than the new linen offered today.
I use vintage linens in tablescapes, home decor projects, apparel, and even crafts. That said, I thought it would be fun to feature a few projects that are perfect for the season.
Furniture and Accessories
I love to use antique French linen sheets to create slipcovers, curtains, and more.

Wearing Vintage Linens
Once the big linens start to show wear and tear I often cut them down for use on smaller projects. Tablecloths, doilies, and handtowels are often transformed into cute apparel.

I saved one of my very favorite and heartfelt projects for last. If you have never read the story of Eleanor’s Aprons, then you are in for a treat.
Up next is The Crowned Goat. Coco has some great tips.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some cheery Sunday Smiles!

These are all such fabulous ideas, Laura! I love all your slipcovered pieces and how you made the pillows from the souvenir towels too. The bunny and spring tablescape is a really beautiful way to celebrate the season as well. Hope your Easter weekend is filled with all good things, CoCo

You are the master of sewing and I’m so jealous! Love each idea but most of all, I adore and treasure the apron you made for me! It hangs in my kitchen for all to see. I wear it on special occasions like Easter but then quickly hang it back up for protection. Unless it needs to be washed of course. Pinned so many of your ideas. Goodness I wish I had the time to practice my sewing skills. Thank you for joining us and sharing your wonderful ideas.

Your linens are always so pretty and your use of vintage and reuse of gently worn vintage linens is amazing. Its lovely to see how you rethink and remake something that could so easily be discarded into something that gets loved again for its beauty.
Thank you for sharing all the beautiful ideas and photos today. 🙂

You have some wonderful examples and I’m not surprised that you have used many in your clothing projects! Love the apron!

I remember when you were making your aprons, Laura and so wish I’d purchased one. They are truly wonderful. Funny, both my grandmothers wore aprons daily. That’s how I remember them. I think that was the custom at that time, when they wore dresses daily and had a limited amount of clothing. But it’s a sweet habit. I’m always amazed at your beautiful and talented sewing skills. Beautiful pink and green spring tablescape! AND oh my goodness those gorgeous pleated chair slips!!!

I knew this post would knock my socks off, with your fabric-loving, seamstress- extraordinaire self! I think my toaster needs some vintage linens love, now! Hopping over to hear about that adorable apron; it’s too cute!

Love all your sewing projects. I have many vintage linens that I like to use and reuse again. One of my favorite ways is usually the last straw /last chance…….I will make Christmas ornaments!!! I also made stuffed hearts out of old very well worn crazy quilts. I use them on gifts as a little extra first gift before you open the real gift. I love using a crazy quilt because even if it is ripped it looks good. So simple…I just cut out hearts with pinking shears, sew around (with raw pinked edge outside), add a hanging ribbon tie and stuff. They are the hit at showers!!!
