There is so much to talk about. Our 16 oak trees are dropping their leaves like mad. I clear the walkways every single day. Sweet Guy is now working at a fast food place named after a pepper. His tales regaling weird customer demands and rudeness are horrifying. I always treat the people preparing my food nicely. Question: am I the only one that dislikes when Thanksgiving falls so late in November? Because of this, I have already started listening to Christmas music. But my house remains in full fall decor. I feel like I have a split personality. So let’s have a dual topic post for this Saturday Smiles Holiday Goodness.
Last-Minute Thanksgiving Ideas
In case you missed it, earlier this week twenty-five ladies shared Thanksgiving recipes, decor and more. All the links can be found HERE.
Favorite Trees of the Week
The Christmas tours have already started! While I like to focus on one holiday at a time decorwise I have been collecting some lovely images.
Inspired By Charm’s Cozy Lodge Christmas Tree is gorgeous! You must see all the wonderful details.
I love the bright and fun colors Dimples and Tangles uses on her tree!
A Favorite Entry
There is something so chic, yet whimsical about Sugar and Cloth’s holiday entry.
Must Watch
While sewing hems and buttonholes I have been glued to Season 3 of The Crown. It just keeps getting better and better!
Saturday Smiles Holiday Goodness
SOLD OUT! This last smile is a big “Thank you!” to all who purchased a 2019 limited edition holiday giving ornament. The money raised will be sent almost equally to the Red Cross and USO.
I’ll be back on Tuesday with a fun decor themed post.
Have a wonderful weekend!

You and I are cut from the same “Respect the Bird” mode of not decorating before TG — and it’s driving me nuts! Today I’m headed to the Greens Market and there may be a wreath on my door by the end of the day — possibly with a turkey stuck within until I can take it out and go full fa la la. One thing is sure — I know what I’ll be doing the day after!
Lovely features here. (I’m on episode 5 of the Crown. I don’t want to rush it — and I don’t want to stop watching!)

Hi Laura. I confess, I do try to have my tree done before Thanksgiving. However, I don’t turn the lights on anywhere in the house until after Thanksgiving, usually December 1. Your Thanksgiving table is lovely, especially your china. I can’t imagine keeping up with 16 oaks. We had 6 when we lived in VA and that was quite enough. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Laura.

Hi Laura,
I go with the Craftsman lawn mower that chews the leaves up. I am not a fan of raking normally. I have a really annoying bird that hasn’t left for winter who perches on the cast-iron decoration above the front door and leaves his dropping on the first step. I have never seen him yet! I am really curious as to who that bird is. He is never there in the day. It might be an owl or something. It’s a mystery. I, too, love the wreath with the bottle-brush trees and the red ribbon. That doorway is just charming. I have finished watching the crown and I really enjoyed it. I did like the first actors better for those parts, but both were good. It’s always a joy to get your blog, Laura.

I’m not always keen on raking, and I prefer old fashion raking as opposed to blowing, when my asthma is rearing it’s ugly head, but boy, what a workout and so lovely at the same time!
I’m only liking Thanksgiving falling late in that I can legitimately buy my live tree no matter the worry of it dying mid-December. Late Thanksgiving made me do it!
Yay for your guy, Dealing with the good, bad, and ugly, will be an enlightening experience, albeit unpleasant.
