A Touch Of Spring In The Kitchen

Hello sweet friends!  I am joining some lovely creatives for the monthly Pinterest Challenge. It is hosted by the fabulous Cindy of County Road 407.  Today I am sharing A Touch Of Spring In The Kitchen.

If you are coming over from French Ethereal, I’d like to welcome you to Storybook Cottage.

The Inspiration

This month the challenge was to create a lovely spring-inspired table vignette. Our inspiration photo comes from the talented Emily at Le Cultivateur.

The Image Features:

  • Soft pink flowers in a seagrass basket
  • A glass cloche
  • Wooden plate holder (seen in other photos in the inspiration post)
  • Antique dishes
  • A pewter rabbit
  • A nest resting on a bed of moss
  • All elements gathered on a elevated platform.

A Touch Of Spring In The Kitchen

Yesterday I shared touches of spring added in the living and dining rooms. The inspiration for this challenge also inspired that post with rabbits, nest and other springtime touches.

Touches of Spring Home Tour

For today’s springtime touches tour I shopped my home to find similar elements found in the inspiration photo above.

I began with a tray that features a similar wood tone. This was filled with a pink toned arrangement in a sea grass basket. Antique Bavarian dishes are stacked in a plate holder. A glass cloche was filled with wooden eggs.

Pewter bunnies reside in a nest of Spanish moss.

A pretty nest and stacks of miniature antique glass berry bowls complete the grouping.

The tray rests on a vintage crocheted table topper that was recently gifted to me by my dear friend Dartanyan.

Tucking in some antique silverplate forks completes the arrangment.

A Springtime Shelf

I continued the color palette on the antique shelf that overlooks the table.

My dear friend Meri began my collection of antique metal farm animals many years ago with the black and white standing cow.

Since then I am always on the lookout for these charming toys that were well played with by children in days gone by.

My favorite is the lovely milkmaid in a sweet pink frock.

I’m slow in spring dec but finally getting to it. Next week I bring out the more Eastery stuff to add to the bunnies already here. Your kitchen looks delightful. Cozy, fun, pretty and yes, very springy. I love the bunny touches and that sweet braided basket on the tray!

I just adore all of the fabulous spring decor in these photos!
    This is just lovely Laura!
I love the shelf, and the vintage style knobs, and absolutely love the table decor, with the wooden plate holder, and the eggs, it all ties in so beautifully!

Oh my golly that milkmaid is fantastic! Where ever did you find her? Your centerpiece is darling also. I’ve never seen the glass berry bowls. What a treasure those are! And I think those little pewter-looking bunnies are like the ones I got from Macy. They are such a versatile size. You can sneak them in anywhere. Your breakfast area is beautiful. Thanks for joining in. pinned

Oh, I’m drooling over those antique metal farm animals; what a special collection! Love the subtly colored, sweet centerpiece and shelf you styled; perfectly coordinated to the pretty art. Happy early Easter, Laura!

Laura, I love your plate rack. It adds height and a different perspective of the plates to compliment the eggs and flower arrangement. How lucky you are to have those sweet animal figurines.

Laura, I love the wood eggs under the cloche! I need to try that, along with the small plate rack. Thanks for sharing your vintage farm animal collection and the sweet milkmaid! I just love little treasures like that!

Your decor is beautiful. I love the muted palette with the pops of pastel to highlight. I am definitely adding a cloche to my decor for next season because I love all the ways you can use it.
