A Very Prairie Christmas

Hello dear friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I traveled to the charming town of Corsicana to attend A Very Prairie Christmas.

A Very Prairie Christmas

A Very Prairie Christmas

A Very Prairie Christmas was a wonderful two day gathering for Little House fans. Miss Beadle, Nellie, Almanzo, the Carters, Grace, and Rose were all there. It was absolutely magical.

There are other occasions that will soon be held if you would like to attend something similar. Please visit Prairie Legacy Productions.

The event was held at the Pioneer Village which was so fun.

Miss Beadle

You guys I met MISS BEADLE!!!

I am often asked if I have a favorite character from the television show. Honestly, it changes with each episode.

But I will say that I have loved Miss Beadle since I was six years old.

Fun Fact: we grew up in the same small California town and both graduated from Y.C.H.S.

I think you can clearly see the joy on my face!

The Carter Clan

David Friedman portrayed adorable Jason Carter.

I adored Sarah Carter who was played by the gorgeous Pamela Roylance.

Her character was a woman running her own newspaper in a small pioneering town.

Living in a small town myself with dreams of becoming a journalist I cannot convey how inspiring her character was to me.

Grace Ingalls

Longtime readers may recall that I have have met actress Wendi Lou Lee on a few occasions. She and her twin sister, Brenda, shared the role of Baby Grace.

Wendi is a best selling author and truly full of kindness and joy!

Nellie Oleson

I am not ashamed to say that I LOVE Nellie Oleson!

Alison Arngrim created, I think, one of the most iconic characters on television. In real life she is so nice and funny!

Almanzo Wilder

Raise your hand if you got all swoony over Dean Butler who portrayed Almanzo Wilder.

Here I am at age 13 all over again.

I got to hug Almanzo Wilder and loved every minute of it!

A Fun Video

Later that evening there was also a fabulous dinner and show.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a tour of our cozy prairie kitchen.

Oh Laura, what fun and memories. We have all loved Little House on the Prairie and your re-creations are such fun to read and see. And I used to live close to Corsicana Texas so I can appreciate your visit there. Did you know that Dale Evans was from Ennis, Texas? Not to far from Corsicana. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful December.

I could not love this more! (Glenn was not a Little House guy, per se, but he is a huge “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fan and Dean Butler played Buffy’s dad, so there’s even something for him to love! )

Such a magical prairie weekend! The cast members of the Little House show are absolutely THE BEST! I so much appreciate their dedication to keeping Laura’s legacy alive and that each of them gives so unselfishly of their time to interact with fans at so many events all over the country. We Little House/Laura Ingalls WIlder fans are truly kindred spirits in that we all have a love and passion for bygone days and the pioneer families that came before us. Beautiful photos and video, my sweet friend!

What fun!! I loved that show and I loved all the characters. My sister and I used to push our dresser next to our louvered door closet and climb up the louvered door like it was a ladder. Then we’d pretend the top of the dresser was the loft where Laura and Mary slept. So many fond memories…. Thanks for sharing!

Oh Laura, you had to be in seventh heaven! And I’ll bet they were as thrilled to meet up with you as you were with them. It sounds like a fabulous event and especially for you with your personal connections. I’m glad it lived up to — maybe even was beyond — expectations!

This was such a fun post, Laura! It was great to see all my favorites. Especially Almanso. I have to admit, I had a major crush. And I loved Miss Beadle as well. Thanks for sharing this fabulous event with us.
