Hello sweet friends! I am absolutely thrilled to be participating in the Christmas Home Tours hop. You can tour 30 homes over 5 days! Today I will be sharing A Cozy Prairie Wonderland Kitchen.
This hop has been hosted by Marty of A Stroll Thru Life, for several years. Miss Marty and I met shortly after we both began blogging over 15 years ago. This year she is recovering from bypass surgery. I want to thank Anne and AnnMarie of Simply 2 Moms for their generosity in stepping up to coordinate the tour. If you hopped over here from She Gave It A Go let me offer you a special welcome! I just loved Brendt’s kitchen and bedroom tour!
A Very Prairie Christmas
If this is your first visit to Decor To Adore I am so happy you have come for a visit! I change my Christmas decor completely each year. This year’s theme is Prairie Wonderland. It is inspired by the many snowy and Christmas stories in the Little House series of books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
You can see the tree and mantel in this post.
The dining room was shared HERE.
A Cozy Prairie Wonderland Kitchen
Welcome to our cozy prairie wonderland kitchen.
You will find touches mentioned in Little House in the Big Woods, The Long Winter and several other of the books.
In each stocking there was a pair of bright red mittens…
The tablescape began with a snowy antique table cloth that was perhaps similar to Ma’s in The Long Winter.
I change the centerpiece weekly and this week is a tray of evergreens topped with a wee log cabin.
Hop On The Gingerbread Train
Last year the hot decor item was dried orange slices. This year gingerbread seems to be everywhere! I decided to hop on board this trend and made this train inspired by The Long Winter.
I love our snowy hearth which was recently transformed HERE.
The accents of red really pop against the neutral backdrop.
Can you guess how many mittens I cut out of red felt?
The dining area is so cheerful!
I love using our red transferware at Christmas time.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour of our cozy prairie wonderland kitchen here at Storybook Cottage.
You can find the tutorial for the patchwork napkins HERE.
