A Slow Summer Home Tour

Hello sweet friends. Welcome to A Slow Summer Home Tour. This inspiring hop is hosted by my dear friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. If you are coming over from It All Started With Paint may I say, “Welcome”!  Wasn’t Linda’s home so lovely?

A Slow Summer Home Tour

A Slow Summer Home Tour

This year cheery summer decor has been slowly added to several areas of the house. Soft shades of green appear in each area. On the front porch bright pops of red join in the fun.

The Living Room

This will be the last time you will see this orange brick hearth. We are getting ready to do a soft white German smear treatment.

Living room

Until then artwork with various blues is used to try and soften the look.

Fireplace

I have shared this scandalous sea nymph before. She was given to us by my husband’s Grandma Joyce who purchased her in the 60s from Italy.

From this angle, you can see a bit of the sunroom.

Living room

It recently was transformed into a calm oasis. You can see all the soothing touches HERE.

The Dining Room

Green reigns supreme in the dining room.

A Slow Summer Home Tour

I find green so cooling in the summer.

Seagrass placemats add a summer touch too.

Our spring garden produced the various blooms on the table.

Vintage green dishware is such fun!

The Master Bedroom

In the master bedroom shades of green are joined with a copious amount of golden yellow. We recently moved the French settee to the foot of the bed.

Master bedroom

The green and yellow quilt and pillows came from Target. The white coverlet and yellow throw were found at Marshall’s.

The necklace holder was made from an old window. You can see the tutorial HERE.

I hope you have enjoyed this summer tour. Up next is the amazing Julia from Cuckoo4Design. Having lived in Germany myself, I always adore that she includes touches of her culture.

Did you make the jewelry holder in your bedroom? Looks interesting. I make jewelry and need a good way to display it.

Oh, I think your German schmear treatment on the fireplace will look lovely and really brighten up that wall in keeping with the rest of your bright and welcoming room! I love the piece of art over your fireplace and can already imagine it on the lighter surface!

I love seeing your beautiful home, Laura. It looks fresh and lovely for summer. Your bedroom is so restful!

Keep cool down there. Rick and his brothers are headed down to Irving to empty their mom’s house and get it ready for sale. They’re not looking forward to the trip!

Looking lovely — as always. A wonderful place to be, your world!
