One Dress Worn Two Ways

Hello sweet friend! Welcome to a fun Fashion Friday. I recently made a new fall dress for the Fashionista using a vintage pattern and fabric. Here is One Dress Worn Two Ways.

One Dress Worn Two Ways

Simplicity 8492

The Fashionista was in a need of a fall dress that could be worn right now on days that still have temperatures in the 80s. It also needed to be a dress that would look great with other layers. Perhaps a sweater when the days start to turn cool.

A simple empire waisted dress with A line skirt is perfect. I used a vintage pattern I had on hand, Simplicity 8492.

The dress was a quick one day make. It was a bit challenging to align the v neck with the v shaped waistline. A beginning seamstress would probably need some guidance.

Both the vintage pattern and the fabric came from an estate sale. The dress was easily less than $10 for all the materials needed.

The charming cotton print is perfect for fall.

For the first look the Fashionista opted to bring out the blue in the dress by pairing it with fun cowboy boots.

It’s an easy look that takes her from work to visiting friends inside her safety bubble.

The Fashionista is a true lover of all things vintage. Her glasses and beaded purse show this.

A Second Look

This is not Who Wore It Better. I would absolutely vote for my beautiful blonde! But we thought it would be fun to show that the dress could be worn by other ages and body shapes. I paired it with classic brown accessories.

What’s this? A third model is entering the frame.

A beautiful pose!

Gracie always steals the show!

Many thanks to my gorgeous model. I treasure her every day. Happy National Daughter’s Day!

I will see you on Sunday with some lovely smiles!

She’s a terrific model and I love the dress. Nice fabric — it’s very pretty and I can see how it would easily layer.
