Hello sweet friends! It has been so hot here in Texas. Is it warm where you are? Our garden is extra crispy. The good news is a few interior projects are now being completed. Here’s to Sunday Smiles Creative Souls.
My Friend Sunday
Do you know my creative friend Sunday Hendrickson? Oh, I am sure that you do. She is an amazing photo stylist whose work has appeared in Country Living, Veranda, French Country Style, among many other fabulous publications.
She has just recently created an amazing website and is sharing her before & after’s and how to create on-the-spot transformations. Sunday will fill you with inspiration!
Summer Cottage
Every inch of this 800 square foot Birmingham cottage is simply delightful. I would love to do something similar in our sunroom.
Tortoise Shell
I can always count on my friend Kelly for a laugh. She recently posted about this young couple from Sonoma who loves to dress up their Sulcata tortoise, Ethel, in matching garb for monthly themed photos. The images are smile-inducing to be sure!
Honey Acres Design
My sweet niece has begun a new enterprise, Honey Acres Designs, after recently losing her job. Wanting to focus on her family they have been involved in every step of building a business. They are recreating miniature barn quilts. Her husband Will builds the wood canvas, Lillian and my great-niece paint the designs and my great-nephew is the dedicated brush washer.
The kids have learned what is required to start a small family business and are also learning many facets of geometry, history, and art. Truly brilliant! You can follow their journey HERE.
Sunday Smiles Creative Souls
My friends, one of the most creative souls that I know desperately needs your prayers. My longtime and real-life friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life was recently hospitalized. Her wonderful husband Jim remains hospitalized and on a ventilator.
Marty and I met in October of 2009 at an Arizona Bloggers Luncheon. (Our lovely friend, Maija is pictured with us.) We found out that we lived just a few minutes from one another and got together as often as we could.
I cannot even begin to tell you how much my life has been blessed by Miss Marty. She has been there through all of the ups and downs. It is now my turn to be there for her. She has a birthday coming up and her greatest wish and prayer is for Jim to get well. Both Marty and I believe in the power of prayer.
Will you please join me in praying for Miss Marty?
Let’s get her and Jim smiling again!

Praying for Marty and Jim….
Barbara Chapman says
Will do, Laura!!! Prayers said and more coming for Marty and Jim. <3 And I pinned and went to Honey Acres on Etsy and pinned some photos to several boards for your great-niece. <3 This must be part of God's plan for the End Times, that's all I can say. For those who don't yet believe in Christ Jesus, here's more proof as the "right to gather to worship" gets taken away, what's "wrong" is lauded as being the right thing, and what's "right" is now wrong. Lord Jesus, come soon!!
Sunday smiles despite the world's troubles,

Gosh, Laura! I read about Marty’s husband and I now her, how sad! I will definitely pray for them both. I hope it’s not serious, and I wouldn’t even know if it weren’t for your post today, so thank you. I am sorry for your niece’s job loss, but what a great venture she and her family are onto! I have ‘loved’ their Etsy shop via your link. Again, thank you. And yes, I knew of Sunday Hendrickson’s work through the years, but was not aware of her blog, thank you again! Btw, the two photos you linked of hers did not show up in this post for me, but I right-clicked and opened the photos in another tab and could see them . š
Yes, it’s hot, yes, my husband felt the Sparta earthquake, and we’re 168 miles north of it! Our people, our earth needs our prayers!

The photos just showed up in this post!
