One Last Summer Blouse

Hello sweet friends! It is hard to believe that we are in the last days of August. I think for many of us our thoughts turn to fall once we turn the page to the September calendar. But before that happens here is One Last Summer Blouse.

One Last Summer Blouse

Butterick B6217

The blouse was made using Butterick B6217, using the View C bodice and the sleeves from View B. This is my very first Patterns By Gertie and I loved it!

The blouse went together very smoothly. It would be a good blouse for a beginner. Although some assistance may be needed in attaching the inside facing of the blouse.

One Last Summer Blouse

The fabric is a vintage cotton plissé I had found at an estate sale.

I did find that the sleeves were a bit voluminous for my taste. So I simply tacked down the excess fabric using an inverted pleat.

I love this fun detail!

The blouse can be worn tucked in or out.

Vintage flower-shaped buttons make a sweet little accent.

I will perhaps make “view A” in the future as I really enjoyed this pattern.

Next, I’ll be tacking a few autumn-inspired dresses and of course the annual Halloween costume.

Beautiful as always Laura! I really like how you improvise the details you don’t care for with an even better detail. You are still one of the most creative and talented artist s I kniw❤️

So feminine, Laura. I appreciate the detail on the sleeves and those charming buttons. I went crazy, crazy over the prior Victorian dress but didn’t leave a comment. I’m still thinking about that dress. This light summer blouse is something I would look forward to wearing on a warm day and you and I like blue; it is so fresh-looking. I admire you so much.
